@XHU 524 - OFSET 5 Unfortunately, I don't have any programming knowledge, so if you have your own ideas, you can manually modify the cost in the XML file
BBBBilly  [author] 13 Jun @ 6:56am
@Irrer on Tour I didn't modify anything else
XHU 524 - OFSET 5 1 13 Jun @ 6:39am
is there a way to change the cost, i don't see it in mod options
Irrer on Tour 14 May @ 7:07am
for some reason, a reinforced barrel only refills 3, instead of 20 fuel!:/
Irrer on Tour 10 May @ 4:49am
how much does 1 barrel count?
Winderin 1 May @ 11:13pm
@BBBBilly it was early in the tech tree. smg and bolt rifle. but is ok. randy and losing is fun play mode.
BBBBilly  [author] 30 Apr @ 12:25am
@Winderin Oh, that's too bad! Use a Powerful Minigun to repel the enemy!
Winderin 29 Apr @ 10:26pm
@BBBBilly u alive. Thanks for the mod update. sadly my base was destroyed. double event curse chant by the enemy while siege from another faction
BBBBilly  [author] 29 Apr @ 8:30am
@justinajones79 @Hebrux @Puppydoll
Updated to 1.5
BBBBilly  [author] 29 Apr @ 8:29am
@Winderin I'm glad you've defended your home. The mod has been updated!
Hebrux 28 Apr @ 2:44pm
@Puppydoll
so is this the simple version?
Sgt. Sarge 28 Apr @ 8:05am
1.5!
Puppydoll 20 Apr @ 7:25am
The simple version of the mod supposedly works in 1.5 despite version mismatch, I'd imagine this one still does as well.
olaflex0306 18 Apr @ 9:35pm
1.5 would be lovely fr
Winderin 17 Apr @ 5:29am
once I complete my research on the mortar and proceed to build a reinforced barrel...well it turns out is not available in 1.5:steamhappy:. self-edit to work for 1.5 and it work but I rather wait for a mod to update here while being siege by enemy
Hebrux 14 Apr @ 8:18pm
does it work for 1.5?
ZebraCore89 22 Mar @ 11:46am
Is there going to be a 1.5 update?
Milenier 8 Mar, 2023 @ 2:50am
@BBBBilly aight ill try my best. thanks for API suggestion. ill check it out.
BBBBilly  [author] 8 Mar, 2023 @ 1:26am
@Milenier Hello, do you think a research premise should be set? It's a good idea, but for simple mods, it's unwise to create a research tab for a small thing. I mean, I can't provide a suitable place in the main research tab because other mods or dlcs have occupied most of the space. If you want, you can refer to the vanilla code. It is very easy to modify. Remember to use Notepad++. Good luck
Milenier 7 Mar, 2023 @ 3:13pm
hello, could i ask that reinforced barrel manufacturing should be locked behind research?
unless it would take too much of your time. perhaps i would ask for source code and i'd try to code that part myself (i'd send the file back).
BBBBilly  [author] 30 Jan, 2023 @ 9:12am
1.3 Working
4shm1l 18 Jan, 2023 @ 9:19pm
is it working at 1.3 ver?
BBBBilly  [author] 13 Dec, 2022 @ 7:52pm
now, it can work in 1.4!
ming 22 Nov, 2022 @ 6:08am
it can work in 1.4
BBBBilly  [author] 27 Oct, 2022 @ 9:35pm
No, I don't have time. The simple mod is theoretically compatible
Evono 21 Oct, 2022 @ 9:41am
1.4 planned?
BBBBilly  [author] 16 Oct, 2022 @ 2:06am
@PsyberTrigger Thank you for your idea. It makes me feel relieved ^ ^
PsyberTrigger 11 Aug, 2022 @ 8:19pm
I've seen this comment before, it's easier if you think of it more like this:

The component requirement is more like "tooling" your workbench during production of the part. IRL when making large and/or tough products, you typically will chew through tool heads, bits, burn out a motor perhaps, etc. So there is typically a maintenance cost on the production machine with each job the machine does. Even if everything goes right, there is still wear and tear on the production equipment. Even if you aren't using a component on the item being produced, you can assume one or two is consumed somewhere along the production of the item. Including it in the cost is just a way to account for that.

Thanks for the mod!

"Reinforced" part of the name makes me think more of plasteel instead of components. Mix of steel and plasteel looks to me like more "lore-friendly" recipe than steel+components.
kit 23 Mar, 2022 @ 1:41pm
150 steel ain't expensive to allow launching 20 mortars. Seeing as you would ideally have a 4k stockpile by this point in the game
BBBBilly  [author] 19 Mar, 2022 @ 9:18am
@Darkasknight667 Only XML should be very secure
LoneKnight667 27 Feb, 2022 @ 2:18pm
lol, I added this to my list and started a save and mid loading panicked because I didnt know if it was midsave safe.
BBBBilly  [author] 26 Feb, 2022 @ 9:06am
@De_AverageMann yes,you can add to your save
ignorius 5 Feb, 2022 @ 3:49am
can I add this mid save?
Bear 19 Oct, 2021 @ 6:05pm
thank you for this
ODevil 16 Sep, 2021 @ 6:29am
Yeah, i prefer this one. The cheap one is way too cheap.
I usually have a few kk steel lying around anyway so whatever...
Squid 6 Sep, 2021 @ 8:00pm
jim_0 4 Sep, 2021 @ 5:23pm
can you make the cost adjustable? i would def remove the component requirement, and less steel. something that we use up all the time and that is relatively simple to craft, a barrel
DK 24 Aug, 2021 @ 5:33am
good:steamhappy:
BBBBilly  [author] 18 Aug, 2021 @ 4:23pm
600 is really too expensive for an iron pipe
Nianor 18 Aug, 2021 @ 12:39pm
@BBBBilly Fair enough, I know that was why you did what you did. Mostly just pointing out that "hollow metal pipes" sell for a hell of a lot more than 600 irl all the time. XD
BBBBilly  [author] 13 Aug, 2021 @ 10:24pm
It's reasonable to use plasteel for reinforcement, but mortars are products of the industrial age, and plasteel is products of the space age
MrPeters 13 Aug, 2021 @ 2:37pm
I'd like to suggest making it Steel + Plasteel, having Steel for the general construct and plasteel as reinforcing material and alloy. Something like 5 plasteel, you can get it somewhat early from mining and purchasing and it's still rare and quite costly while remaining logical.
BBBBilly  [author] 12 Aug, 2021 @ 1:53am
@Nianor Skywolf hey bro, this is a game after all. It can only be as simple as possible.
very complex will only be daunting. for example, the reason for the emergence of this mod is to allow everyone to use mortars freely^ ^
Nianor 11 Aug, 2021 @ 2:29pm
Technically speaking, that's not true in the slightest. Real-world gun and artillery barrels are fairly pricey despite being "hollow metal pipes." They need to be incredibly strong, have rifling and chambers machined to very precise tolerances, and be properly hardened to withstand tens of thousands of PSI for hundreds of shots. Basically, the materials are simple, but the manufacture is complicated and sensitive. A single tool for cutting the rifling costs thousands of dollars IRL, for example, and that's assuming you already have something with proper chamber dimensions and hardening, both processes that require their own specialized tools and production.
BBBBilly  [author] 9 Aug, 2021 @ 3:21am
@Yalkin I know,But if I only use steel, I will have to reduce its market value.a hollow metal pipe won't sell for 600
Yalkin 8 Aug, 2021 @ 11:01pm
@BBBBilly Its a hollow metal tube
BBBBilly  [author] 8 Aug, 2021 @ 5:21am
@WHiZ what you said is very reasonable. I just think it's too monotonous to use only steel ^ ^
In addition, I don't think it must be an electronic part, because it also needs to be used in the manufacture of weapons(gun)
BBBBilly  [author] 8 Aug, 2021 @ 5:20am
@Tactical Slime Yes, we can make spaceships, but it also uses yaks to carry goods
WHiZ 7 Aug, 2021 @ 5:02pm
a hollowed out metal barrel shouldnt cost electronic components. other than that a good mod.
