unless it would take too much of your time. perhaps i would ask for source code and i'd try to code that part myself (i'd send the file back).
The component requirement is more like "tooling" your workbench during production of the part. IRL when making large and/or tough products, you typically will chew through tool heads, bits, burn out a motor perhaps, etc. So there is typically a maintenance cost on the production machine with each job the machine does. Even if everything goes right, there is still wear and tear on the production equipment. Even if you aren't using a component on the item being produced, you can assume one or two is consumed somewhere along the production of the item. Including it in the cost is just a way to account for that.

I usually have a few kk steel lying around anyway so whatever...
very complex will only be daunting. for example, the reason for the emergence of this mod is to allow everyone to use mortars freely^ ^
