Hmm, yea that's probably something that character editor will have to fix unfortunately. I doubt there's anything I could really do. :/

I don't know if you can or will fix this on your end, but as far as I've boiled it down, the inherent problem is seen through the Character Editor mod.

After changing a pawn's race a few time results in 2 pairs of ears occurring

All the mods I used was just your bun mod with the dependency and the character editor with their dependency

Hmm, well I just loaded the game up with just harmony, HAR, and bun race (and all vanilla/exp), and everything looks fine to me. :/

Are you using any other mods that might be messing with bodyaddons?

did they lose their ears? If so, you need to replace them with prosthetics or bionics, or use any of the other various methods to regenerate body parts. Same with the tail.

So on the backend all bun's use a 'female' bodytype, with different textures for male and female, but that's just kind of not possible in vanilla? I experimented with giving them all thin bodies and then using the fluff as an addon part to kind of give them their shape back, but it really doesn't look great.

So I would either have to make them *actually* all female, which I don't really want to do, or make them support all bodytypes, which I'm not 100% against but it's a lot of work and is also a significant change to their identity.

So yea, still thinking about it. :/

I did mess around with it a fair bit, but I didn't see a way to do buns in pure Biotech that wouldn't either lose a bunch of the stuff that makes them unique, or require a bunch of different supplemental frameworks. :/

I'll probably take another stab at it sometime soon though.

They work fine for me with only bun race and HAR, with and without Anomaly. Probably a mod conflict. Are you seeing any error messages in your log?

I was testing random research mod the other day, maybe it is a mod conflict. But other bun scenario works fine, which is strange.

Hm, not sure why you would be having issues with that. I'm able to open up the buntribe start in the scenario editor as normal. :/

The default buns have the eyes baked into the head textures, so if you have eyeless buns that's gotta be a facial animation issue or something. :)

Besides, they are humanoid very much so, while being awesome, beautiful, and well to put it pg 13 very appealing. I would love to just pat those little 'Buns'.

I've also reported it on the HAR page as well, just in case. Following some questions from them, I can confirm that humans consider buns aliens, as if I set the precept "Aliens: Abhorrent" everyone immediately gets a -5 penalty.

Minor issue that "dating aliens: Abhorrent" doesn't affect the buns. It's annoying because, for the first time ever, I challenged myself to make a "bad guy" colony who unethically steals genes, makes mechbrains out of prisoners, and is uber racist to anyone that's not a bun, baseliner, hussar, or genie.

The issue arises that I recruited 4 buts who's only purposes are to be maids and entertainers, yet EVERYONE and their mother keeps marrying them when I'm not looking.

Also a silly note, not an issue, just flavor to help show my enjoyment of the mod.

I had one Bun Guy in a colony, 3 females (2 to start) , but he ONLY kept getting the Elf woman that joined with child....she had 5 of them, but he slept with them all......I cant make sense of it but wow. But somehow the two bun Women, (who are not shy about partners) Just havent had kids yet.
Year 11 of the colony, I play slow style. And had to abandon a BUG infested map....so many bugs, hundreds of them,....better infestation mod settings too high. Had to RUN once I realized how bad it was.

The bun-fur body was one of the most standout features of this mod, so I hope you don't leave that out. Have you tried reaching out to the rimworld discord's modding community?

I think I have it mostly figured out? The main issue is getting the bodytypes to work. The vanilla expanded biotech framework allows me to force a bodytype, but if I have a gene that forces the female shape it breaks children because it overrides their child bodytype. However I recently figured out that you can set an age limit on genes so they aren't active on children. So that would fix that.

The next hurdle would be figuring out how to get it to use different male and female textures for the same bodytype, which I am less sure I can do. On the other hand, I was thinking of leaving most of that out on the 'pure' version to be more vanilla. I've been distracted but I will hopefully take another crack at it soon.

I love mod, was using some.....mods that change male buns, and an unofficial Xenogene addon.

I am sad to say I think they cause some texture issues/shader issues, a few purple boxes from bun pawns/xeno's.

But I am thinking maybe I wont be using those addons and just keep you awesome race mod on the list anyways.

The bundog ears are based off of the same art, but they're drawn into the sprite, not addons.

It's almost certainly the same issue. If you're using a bodytype replacer for buns and you're getting floating ears, they need to update the offsets in their patch. I can't do that for them.

Perhaps add an option to turn the ears off completely.
