Description
About:
This mod is an a standalone version of Skill Level and Work modifications. It doesn't require Mechanoid Modifications. It adds skill level and work type mechanoid modifications. This mod has reduced research costs and power consumption of modifications.
Features:
  • Mechanoids must be set to dormant self-charge and must not be drafted in order for them to be modified.
  • 4 level modifications.
      • +3 skill level, 5% increased power consumption.
      • +5 skill level, 10% increased power consumption.
      • +7 skill level, 15% increased power consumption.
      • +10 skill level, 20% increased power consumption.
    • Level modifications are installed in the mechanoid head and are incompatible with each other.
    • The additional levels gained from level modifications will never exceed 10, even if installed in a modded multi-headed mech.
    • Increasing a mech's skill level above 20 may cause issues.
    • Increasing a mech's skill level basically allows it to do level-restricted tasks but does not necessarily increase other stats, like shooting accuracy.
  • 12 work type modifications, for each worktype vanilla mechs can do. (Cleaning, Hauling, Construction, etc)
    • Other work types are not included because mechs will cause errors during work.
    • Work modifications reduce the work speed of the mechanoid they are installed on to the work speed of the mechanoid that originally had that work type.
  • 3 vanilla "safe" work type modifications.
    • Basic.
    • Hunting.
    • Art.
  • 4 modded work type modifications.
  • Stat upgrades are not displayed in the mech info window.
  • This mod has an increasing impact on performance depending on the number of mechanoids you have.
  • This mod is very likely to be incompatible with mods that patch jobs, pawn skills, and work types. There will be no compatibility patches for such issues.
  • This mod is separate from the main mod because it will have its own compatibility issues and increased performance impact.
  • Do NOT use this mod together with Mechanoid Modifications. Mechanoid "surgery" systems in these mods will overlap, causing errors.
    Use Mechanoid Modifications Addon - Skill Level and Work modifications with Mechanoid Modififcations instead.
  • Replacing Mechanoid Modifications Addon - Skill Level and Work modifications with this mod in an existing save may cause issues.
  • This mod is under testing. Reliability is not guaranteed.
Q&A:
  • Q: Is this mod safe to add mid-save?
    A: No. Adding this mod to an active savegame will cause issues.
  • Q: CE compatible?
    A: Probably yes.
  • Q: Multiplayer compatible?
    A: No idea. Some modifications are very likely to cause desync.
Mods that add new gestatable mechanoids will require a patch.

Hello, after installing the mining module for the robot, it is unable to work inside the stone quarry mod. However, I have only tried installing the mining module on the mechanical militia.

can you patch this mod to the standalone gestalt mod please? also, is it possible to modify mechs without the need of a mechanitor?

@ChillySeed mechanoids should not be drafted and should be set to dormant self-charge mode. Then you will be able to operate.

how do i install the modifications?

I have a suggestion. I want to rework this mod a bit and upload it. Of course, I will list you as a co-creator and make it loud and clear that this page is the original mod.

Here's what I'd like to fix: kit deletion (replaced by component), research project deletion (replaced by vanilla research project), dedicated bench, overall cost adjustment, overall art rework and better thumbnails, etc.

You and I may have different thoughts on the details, so I want to release it as a separate mod. Of course I could fix this mod and use it only for myself. But I think this mod is very cool and I hope you and this mod will be more widely known and loved. I'm not a famous or brilliant person, but I've released a few mods(search for JGH and you'll find my mods) and I think this will help a bit to promote this mod.

This is just a small suggestion. If you don't like it, you can feel free to say no and I won't feel the slightest bit dissatisfied. Thanks again for making a great mod.
