Story Quest (Seal the Deal)
Before proceeding with the story mission, it is recommended that you do the following:

    While in the Dark Aether, shoot the fuse box (under the nose of the plane) and take the fuse for the D.I.E. Thermophasic
    Immediately after installing Pack-a-Punch, do the Easter EGG "Coffin Dance" for a free Juggernog and other bonuses
    Also, when Megaton first appears, make sure that his blaster attack hits the tree with the mushroom.
    You'll need it later for the D.I.E. Cryo-Emitter

Tasks to complete for the story quest Die Maschine:
  1. Find the parts of the ethereoscope and restore it
  2. Get the basic model of the wonder weapon — D.I.E. Shockwave
  3. Get 4 modifications of the weapon above — Cryo-Emitter, NOVA-5, Electrobolt, Thermophasic
  4. Interact with ghosts in the Dark Aether to obtain story information
  5. Restore the functionality of the purification capsule
  6. Capture, purify Orlov and restore his memory
  7. Destroy the charged particle accelerator
Creating an etheroscope
Before proceeding to assemble other weapon modules, you should collect the Aetheroscope story item. To do this, you need to go to the Dark Aether and take three parts of the device, which are located in the following places:

    On the airplane turbine
    In the room with the charged particle accelerator, near the portal
    Under the stairs in the starting location

After picking up each of the parts, several plague dogs will appear next to the player, which are very necessary to obtain the NOVA-5 modification.
Using an aetheroscope
The next part of the quest will be available only after collecting the Etheroscope, which must be collected in the room with the accelerator, right under the PAP:



    After that, a new anomaly will appear in the medical department, which you need to interact with. While in the Dark Aether, the player must pick up Dr. Vogel's diary
    and pass it to the ghost on the level below - both are located next to the Speed Cola perk:
    Next, you need to go to the control room to repeat the same procedure.
    The last anomaly is waiting by the crafting table where the aetheroscope was created.

While the ghost is speaking its story information, the zombies will not attack the player unless the player attacks or runs away too far.

After the player has listened to this information, he will be moved back to interact with the computer in the medical department. After that, two D.I.E. models will be available — Electrobolt and Thermophasic.
🟥 Wonder weapon D.I.E. Shockwave
First, you need to get the basic version of the wonder weapon D.I.E. (Decompressive Isotopic Estrangement Machine). The player has several ways to get this weapon:

    Random item from Easter Egg "Coffin Dance"
    Low chance
    From the mystery box
    Low chance
    Legendary reward for completing tasks
    Moderate chance
    By completing certain story actions
    GUARANTEED

After Megaton dies, a keycard will fall out of him:



This punch card must be used in the Weapons Lab.



By inserting it into one device, the player will receive another, which will allow them to detect and remotely activate the D.I.E.

The wonder weapon is located in a locked room on the first floor of the building. It is advisable to collect a train of zombies by this time, because interaction with the weapon activates an additional property of the D.I.E. — zombie absorption.



It takes about 20 zombies to fully charge the wonder weapon. If the device does not absorb the required amount within a certain period of time, it will begin the cooling process and the rest of the zombies can be absorbed in a minute.

When everything is ready, the player will receive an appropriate sound notification and activate the D.I.E. through the same hole in the room to knock out the door with a charge.

Without going far from the cashier, the player should go up to the penthouse level to shoot the box on the edge.



A flask will fall out of the box, which you have to apply to the radioactive mushroom (which was pre-charged with Megaton's blaster) and wait a minute or two before you can pick it up:


On the second floor, in the inaccessible area, there will be a canister that you need to suck to you with the alternative ability of the wonder weapon.



Then attach it to the pipe in the weapons lab (right next to Deadshot):

D.I.E. Cryo-Emitter
This weapon is the easiest to obtain and yet the weakest.

All the necessary steps have already been described earlier - they are related to obtaining a flask with a substance.

Next, you need to interact with the chest in the medical department, after which you can change the weapon module to Cryo-Emitter:

D.I.E. NOVA-5
To get this weapon model, you need to wait for a round with plague dogs (or until they appear as normal enemies).

After detecting them, the player needs to run towards the canister and wait for the plague dogs to finish them off next to the canister.

After destroying several zombie dogs, the player will have access to a gas canister:



The canister must be placed on another crate near the crashed plane, and then blown up in any way. And then a new variation of D.I.E. will be available to the player:

D.I.E. Electrobolt
Available only after using the Etheroscope for its intended purpose.

    In order to get this variation, you need to use the portal that has just appeared in the particle accelerator
    The chest with this modification is located in the same room as the accelerator, but on the other side

To open the chest, you need to suck the energy from the yellow crystals (in the Dark Aether) one by one with a regular D.I.E. and shoot it into the box above.

The location of the crystals is as follows:

    At the entrance to the bunker, on the side of the crashed plane
    On the roof of the building, next to Der Wunderfizz
    Near the pond, opposite the Quick Revive perk

The chance that the player will have time to fire three charges is quite small, but it is enough to collect this energy and shoot it into the box in the normal world.
D.I.E. Thermophasic
Available only after using the Etheroscope for its intended purpose.

To obtain this model of the wonder weapon, the player must use the portal near the pond.



Since it is assumed that by this point the player has taken the fuse from the box, he or she will only need to go down to the Deadshot perk to find another box nearby.

Interact with it and you will automatically return to the normal world.



The box is on the car near the pond, and the module is ready for use.

Catching a valuable subject
After the player has all 4 variations of D.I.E. available, he or she must shoot each of them at the right lever of the huge flask in the medical center:
  • left next to it — Thermophasic
  • left next — Electrobolt
  • right next to it — NOVA-5
  • right next — Cryo-Emitter



    When all the levers are lifted, another portal will appear nearby to enter
    Without going too far, the medical department needs to interact with a new anomaly to get the next task
    When you return, there will be a wrench in the same place that you need to pick up
    With this wrench, you need to interact with the tank three times to get a zombie out of the tower.
    Kill it and throw explosives on the roof of the tank.
    Semtex or C4 is best
    There is a golden ball on the ground, which will attract several dogs and soon a Megaton.
    Picking it up makes the player defenseless, but they can still activate field modifications
    The orb must be placed in this compartment, where it was originally in the story
    Then the player should add the subject to the large capsule, which is the Megaton
    More precisely, both of its halves, it will not fit in the whole

Split Megaton and lure him to stand under the capsule. When both halves are there, interact with the computer next to it, after which the remaining zombies will die and the next round will begin.



Preparation
Then the medical department will open and several chummies will appear. The player should follow the marker to the new portal.

    While in the Dark Aether, the player has to interact with the last anomaly, which is located in the same building, but in a different corner - near the 1911
    After listening to the penultimate story monologue, the player will be returned to the normal world.
    To activate the boss fight, it is enough to interact with the photo located near the same table


Until then, the player should buy perks, upgrade weapons, etc., as the boss fight locks the team in a room with a particle accelerator.

A great option would be an improved D.I.E. Electrobolt or D.I.E. NOVA-5 if you don't have a Ray Gun or other weapon pumped to legendary level.
Bossfight
There is no boss fight as such. After Orlov remembers who he used to be, the player's task is to clear the friendly Megaton's workspace and not die himself.



Don't worry about Orlov - he can't die, but the player will also be chased by a reinforced Megaton along with split halves, armored zombies, and plague dogs.

All enemies will respawn endlessly until the player completes this part of the quest or dies.

As soon as Orlov breaks the third part of the accelerator, the boss fight ends and the player must immediately evacuate without touching the flashes that can kill the player very fast.

The only way to evacuate:
  1. Past the Speedcola perk,
  2. leaving the bunker go to the right to Juggernog,
  3. zigzag around the flashes and arrive at the pond, where the evacuation usually takes place.
For completing the storyline, the player will receive the Dark Ops achievement «Evil Unleashed»:

🎵 Musical Easter Egg
To activate it, players need to collect 3 cassettes:

    In the fridge in the living room
    On the shelf in the medical department
    On the corner computers, so that under the charged particle accelerator

For collecting all three cassettes, the player will activate the musical composition "Alone" by Kevin Sherwood.

The song will also be available in the Musical player section:

🥚 Easter Egg «Coffin Dance»
After the player has returned the Pack-a-Punch to its place, it is necessary to shoot 5 spheres of light in the location with the charged particle accelerator.

    Behind the pistons under the Elemental Pop perk
    In the corner under the ceiling
    Among the computers, on the opposite side of the Elemental Pop perk
    Behind the pipes under the stand
    In the corner behind the barricades, under Pack-a-Punch

After shooting into the last sphere, the player will be transported to a special Dark Aether with zombies dancing Easter eggs to the famous Coffin Dance.



During this time, the player can collect some other story details or break the aether crystals to get different loot.

After teleportation, there will be a box next to the PAP, from which the player is guaranteed to get a jar of the Juggernog perk, some resources, and a random weapon.

Sometimes luck is good and a Ray Gun or a basic version of the D.I.E. Shockwave can fall out of it.

🥚 Easter Egg «Free Legendary»
Instantly upgrade your weapon to legendary level

This is a difficult and time-consuming Easter Egg to complete, and is therefore not recommended without special preparation and special need.

After the player installs Pack-a-Punch, he needs to upgrade the weapon once (through PAP), then teleport to the Dark Aether and go to the corridor near the Speed Cola perk. Then, using the weapon of the first level of PAP, you need to shoot the button near each of the four doors.



After the player successfully shoots all 4 buttons, the light near the nearest left door will turn on.

To complete the Easter Egg, you need to shoot the button near the aforementioned door to make the Orda's hand come out: need this hand to grab 15 zombies, after which the game will automatically level up the player's weapon to the legendary (orange) level.



The difficulty is as follows:
  • Works only in the Dark Aether.
  • After the player activates the button with the hand, it is necessary to wait a minute before the next attempt is available.
  • The hand has a crooked hitcheck, which makes it difficult to catch zombies walking near the right wall.
  • The player will be very lucky if the arm can catch more than 2 zombies at a time
  • With the proper equipment, the player will level up the weapon to legendary level around wave 25-29, so this Easter egg is very optional.
🥚 Easter Egg «Free Support»

After completing this task, the player receives a random Support. To do this, you need to go to the "Dark Aether" and shoot 5 zombies, which can be in the following places:

    Under the bridge to the medical department
    Near the tail of the crashed plane
    Behind the fence in the room with the charged particle accelerator (to the left of Pack-a-Punch)
    In front of one of the ethereal jellyfish, which can be seen from the starting location
    Between the trees by the pond

After all of them disappear, a new levitating zombie will appear near the same pond, which you can also shoot.



And after the shot, he drops random support - from a Combat bow to a Chopper Gunner. But not this time.

If the player continues to be near the zombie levitating in the center of the pond and does not shoot it, a screamer with a frantic echo awaits the player.

🥚 Easter Egg «1500 points»
To get almost 1500 points for free, you need to arm yourself with the Dead Wire ammunition modification. And it is advisable to apply it to a sniper rifle.

After that, you need to shoot at 3 plates with this weapon, turning them towards the dilapidated building:

    One is visible from the starting location
    The second one is from the pond
    The third one is better seen standing on the wing of an airplane

The signal of the successful performance of the Easter eggs will be an electric charge that goes from each of the plates to the antenna on the roof of the building.



Near that place, the player will hear a mysterious code, and there will be three canisters with 500 points each.

No, you can interact with all of them in one visit. At least with those that are necessary for the story quest. You can simply interact with a ghost and immediately move on to the next one without having to listen to a long monologue from each one.

If you're talking about interacting with all the ghosts on the map (to get the corresponding achievement), you probably won't have enough time for one visit.
