I love the Sims, not so much for the game play I find it quite boring after a hour or so, but I love building random lots and creating households to live in those lots.
Do I ever play with these house holds I create? No not rely.
Do I think the game is worth the price? Also no.
But if you have the spear $$ to spend on it sure go ahead.
If there was a third option to pick (get it if you are willing to pay for a overpriced game) that would be my recommendation.
Just know unless you are willing to buy a few of the DLCs this game is not worth getting at all.

I will say I wish they did bundle deals on the DLCs on steam like they have on console, they were in my opinion at least fairly priced when on sale. $50NZD would get you one expansion pack, one game pack and 2-3 stuff packs or sometimes one expansion, two game packs and 1-2 stuff packs.

all in all between console and PC I've spent more on this game then I should have.
