One step forward, 10 step backwards

It's funny how this game is moving "forward". I played 12 hours in beta version, that one available for press or people that supported this game earlier. First of all, Frozen Flame advertises itself by FAKE SCREENSHOTS. There are no enemies visable on some of them - there are no shields, there's no staff visable on one of screens. There's no such animal visable on the screen.
It's fake advertisment and should be reported to Steam. There's no such thing in the game.

So why I called this development funny?
For example. In beta you could place everything anywhere, workbench on the ground, torch on the ground, anything. Now you can't. You have to place even a stupid torch on the foundation first. And yes! You can place walls! But? For what? Game isn't focused on PVP, it's mostly solo or coop. Mobs? Mobs don't care about your base or have insane range of interest - like 100 meters. Also, what is funny - wooden walls are rotting if not covered by the roof. Yes. You read correctly - wooden walls. Walls. That are intended to be used outside :D

Game is like 1 step forward and 10 backwards. Frozen Flame is full of "what author had on mind". So you are mixing all possible food and ings to make another kind of food, but you need that "exact one" type of food, to summon boss. Okay. But this kind of food is made... from water. Water that can be gathered only from one place in the world. And using one craft-able item. If we are talking about fighting. It's even worse than in beta - slow, clunky, stamina runs out super fast so you just avoid projectiles from enemies while waiting to refill some stamina. It's more boring than it was. Heavy attacks and some skills are removed so it's even more and more clunky.

Many of us were hoping Early Access would include Act Three. There's no Act Three on date of EA release. It's basically the same as the beta, only less and with a lot of additional problems. A few quests from the beta were cut, some items were removed, the base management system was changed to a less advanced one. The game is also misleading in that we have stone structures, but we can't place them because it's not in the game yet. Interface is available, but items for it are not.

The authors also shot themselves in the foot by giving us dedicated and open servers in the beta, which are not available in Early Access. They will be. Also, instead of immediately giving players the option to host their games manually on their PC or on their machines, they dumped the case on Gportal. And now they're suddenly apologizing and introducing self-hosting. That's not how you do it.

I have very strong flashes of Firefall from many years ago. Great idea, beautiful world, interesting lore, great exploration, unique style. But what if the authors killed their own game with stupid decisions. I have a feeling it might be similar here. The panic among the authors is proven by strange decisions - the disintegration of buildings was quickly stopped at 30%, by small patch. Cool. Because on our server after a few hours our house will disappear. Due to self-desctruction speed. But why? Wasn't the classic and good base core power system better? Player is fueling up core and simply everything arounds isn't rotting as long as there's fuel inside?

And the game has a lot of such ideas that slowly destroy the fun. Unfortunately, the price in relation to the quality, a lot of issues, "what the author had in mind" or figuring out strange ideas of authors. I had a lot of fun in the beta, here's 100 steps back, 10 steps forward, and a disappointing launch compared to the content that has been available in beta for many months.

Incredibly boring game with extremely imprecise mechanics. You enter the ring, 6 guys touch each other within 5 cm and no one can hit anyone. A huge number of mechanics that only the author understands, in which they are described in one sentence that the author himself understands. Not very nice graphics combined with the fact that the game runs from 30 to 130 FPS makes it unplayable for me. It is possible that there are a lot of interesting mechanics and equipment elements in the game, as well as character development, but in my opinion the author did it in such a "his own way" that only he understands. The whole system is not designed in a pleasant, open, understandable and obvious way. In everything, you have to guess what the author had in mind and try to inculcate in his way of thinking about his game, instead of understanding the mechanics based on the typical and easy-to-catch ideas. Of course, the game does not have to be simple and trivial. On the other hand, figuring out these mechanics is simply an unpleasant thing, which does not give pleasure and satisfaction from the game, but causes incredible frustration. Plus, there's a lot of dumb ideas here - like the fact that the left shoulder pad... is on the right side of the HUD.

There's no sense in giving this game feedback as I usualy do. It's simply rotten in the core and near every feature needs to be tweaked, balanced or simply removed. Main reason for dislike for this game is very very very simple. At level 5 of your skills you are not getting any upgrades, every boss or another lvl up gives you some health or some gold... like... 13 gold... when you need 1500 for another upgrade in main menu. So you are literally blocked from leveling up, and that's the "difficulty level" in this rubbish.
No matter how good your character will be, you are punched into face by this "lock" for leveling up. Another thing is that developers probably did not played their own game - if you are building character for stat XYZ, imagine that your getting chest from the boss. And there's -50% for your XYZ stat, but boost for stats you are not using. In first hours of gameplay you can't skip it or discard it. So I simply quit ~10 runs just because of this. Also it's one of most unbalanced games in this ganre I've ever played, maybe 2-3 of them are realy playable at medium or high difficulty of levels we have right now, rest even upgraded are simply very annoying to use against enemies. Issues above linked with quite slow movement, slow use of skills = simply not very good game to play. Sadly. Because music tracks and graphics are very very very good.

- Zodiac Walker, czyli takie mini konto premium.
- Outfity po ~80 zł, oczywiście w takiej cenie by najlepiej było wydać 100 zł i by troszkę nam zostało
- Płatne zadania dające nam w cholerę expa do skillgemów :D

Panowie. Skończcie.
Zamknijcie grę. Studio. Nie róbcie pośmiewiska. Druga szansa. Druga zmarnowana.
Can't connect to the server.

;) No chyba, że pójdziemy w 3D i zrobimy Going Medieval.

Quite a typical opportunity to buy pre-made assets and sell them as your game.
I fired.
I went through the tutorial, the gas mask doesn't work even though I have it on my face, I get a gun and a shooting clip for training zombies ... but I don't get bullets. I died in the tutorial board by a non-working gas mask, I have a black screen and the only option is to start all over again.
I found an axe in the first car, but I can't chop just any tree, I have to find a place to harvest wood from. So, whole my idea of stacking up resources near the city, in the forest isn't bright idea... As there are no wood sources nearby :D
The game has terrible controls, messy mouse movements, an incredibly annoying interface where items don't automatically stack. There is probably nothing more annoying than stacking it all over and over again. Unfortunately, refund.
