STOP READING THE REVIEWS
This game is strongly focused on exploration and figuring out things for yourself, so I recommend you stop reading the reviews to not hurt or affect your experience.

This game has become one of my favorite games of all time over the course of playing it. Originally, I had no interest but am so glad that I tried it out. It has simple mechanics, but that is what drives and makes the focus on exploration so much fun. Every little distinct detail you learn about the dying little universe that encircles the Outer Wilds feels unique and intriguing. With little to no directions or even a stated end goal, until you piece together the puzzle. That is what makes getting to the credits so much more satisfying. Meeting and chatting with each character gives a sense that this lonely universe is alive. Even after each loop, you can return to those characters and have new interactions based on the discoveries you made while exploring. Characters like Chert and Riebeck strongly stood out to me because of how much character I felt was put into them. While some players may stray from the lack of direction given, I strongly recommend you continue to play. There are countless ways to approach a given problem in the game that you have the freedom to try and experiment with. Additionally, the uniqueness and creativity behind every planet and location are just unbelievable. Flying to a new planet for the first time and discovering all of its locations, secrets, and fascinating past is always a thrill. And, hearing the loop-ending music for the first time incites panic for the need to get that one last piece of writing you'll hope to get before your screen goes blue. Even completing the majority of the game gives you a sense of accomplishment when you realize you get different endings depending on what you find or do. Not to mention any possible spoilers, but there are A LOT of different endings (not counting DLC). But the only thing that I was thinking after reaching the credits was, "If only I could play this game for the first time again." The first time going through is absolutely something I won't forget, but I hope everyone else's experiences will be just as valuable. Outer Wilds is by far one of the greatest games I've played in a long time. It's a breath of fresh air nowadays, and I strongly welcome it. I can't think of anyone I wouldn't recommend this game to because of how incredible it is. I cannot overstate just how amazing this game is. Outer Wilds deserves all of the praise it gets because it is a masterpiece. It is truly a work of art and should be applauded for its creativity and depth. And, the beauty of Outer Wilds is that it appeals to all types of players, from those who prefer a more passive, exploratory experience to those seeking a thrilling challenge. The game mechanics are perfect, and it blends puzzles, exploration, and storytelling together in a way that few games do.
Enjoy your first time playing and have fun!
