Great action, well paced, an immersive experience that shook up the superhero game genre, with some great performances (such as Mark Hamill as The Joker or the late Kevin Conroy as the Batman). The story is contained within the grounds of the asylum, and exploration is Metroidvania-like.

From the moment you step foot onto the grounds of the titular Arkham Asylum, you're thrown into a world teeming with mystery. Rocksteady have created an experience like no other, that honors the legacy of Batman, introducing the most iconic villains the Caped Crusader has fought throughout the years, great stealth mechanics (from crawling through vents, to using vantage points to scan rooms before engaging from the shadows to take out unsuspecting enemies one by one), a good selection of gadgets, fluid and satisfying combat that allows for a seamless transition between bone-crunching punches and acrobatic dodges. There are also a lot of secrets to be unraveled, making returning to previous locations very rewarding, and solving all the puzzles will make you feel like World's Greatest Detective.

I'd say this game is unparalleled in what is has to offer, making it a great starting point for a great series.

Some of the dialogue in this game is pretty funny and amusing, unlike the trash we put up with nowadays in games.
Game play mechanics are a little dated for example the combat etc. but I'm still enjoying it.
