Batman: Arkham Asylum is the first installment in the Batman: Arkham series of games developed by Rocksteady Studios and released in 2009. The game is based on the Batman comic book series and offers players to plunge into the dark and exciting atmosphere of Arkham Asylum.

• The game takes place on Arkham Island, where Batman brings his main enemy, the Joker. The Joker, not upset by his imprisonment, lures Batman to the island in order to capture him and cause chaos. Batman's task is to stop the outrages of prisoners, unravel the Joker's plan and protect Gotham.

• During the game, Batman encounters dozens of Joker's henchmen, rescues medical staff, frees Commissioner Jim Gordon, and fights his own nightmares. Along the way, he has to solve puzzles left by Edward Nygma (Riddler).

• The gameplay of Batman: Arkham Asylum can be divided into three types: world exploration, beat'em up and stealth. In the exploration mode, the hero moves around the territory of the hospital, solving puzzles and using his gadgets. In battle mode, Batman engages in battles with enemies using the FreeFlow combat system, which allows for combinations of strikes and counterattacks. In stealth mode, the player must neutralize opponents without attracting attention.

• Especially worth noting is the detective mode, which allows you to track the movements of enemies, collect clues and find riddles. This mode makes it much easier to complete the game, although it makes exploring locations less interesting.

• The graphics in the game are at the highest level. Gloomy and detailed locations create the atmosphere of a real Arkham, and the dynamic and thoughtful FreeFlow combat system makes you feel like a real Batman. The musical accompaniment and sound design are also commendable, enhancing the immersion in the game world.

• Batman: Arkham Asylum is a masterpiece in the genre of adventure games. Great graphics, an exciting plot, thoughtful gameplay and the atmosphere of a real Arkham make this game a must-have for all fans of Batman and high-quality video games. Despite some technical issues with the original version, the game's repack offers a smooth and enjoyable gameplay.

Overall - Great Batman game that is true to the dark character and gritty nature of Batman!

The game itself was not planned by me to play through. But due to a small interest from Telltale Games and small memories of YouTubers playing this game from YouTube, I was forced to dive into this game.

The game itself is almost a similar plot from the game LEGO® Batman™: The Videogame. Like, all the enemies escape, and they need to be caught again. But here I didn’t really understand a small part about the main enemies, but everything went from the fact that the Joker was caught and stuck in a mental hospital, but it turns out to be an insidious plan of the Joker to try to destroy Arkham again. And as usual in many games, throughout the game we will try to catch the elusive Joker (that is, one single target), along the way catching other main enemies, such as Harley Quinn, Ivy, Croc and others. In the end, having gone through the plot, we catch everyone again, and the Joker, who will eventually be our final boss.

Naturally, the game has an open world, combat arts and pumping up your combat skills, as well as your gadgets. And for this you need to collect experience through combat arts, and also by collecting all sorts of stuffs, such as trophies, puzzles, tapes that contain information/interviews with characters, etc. Therefore, after completing the game, you can collect all these things to get all sorts of information about the characters. Especially when it requires a full set of all the gadgets in the game - these are improvements that are purchased with collected experience.

The gameplay itself is easy, especially if you play with a mouse and keyboard. For some unknown reason, I decided to play with a gamepad. But... I don't know how accurate this is, but many will say that this is nonsense, and that it is better to play with a mouse, since it has the ability to spam, including during battle. I tried to make sure of this, and it seems to be true. But again, speaking about the truth, I am so used to the controls on the gamepad, which is why it is very unusual for me to play on computer equipment.

In addition to the main part, there is additional content that attracts and also allows you to hone your skills in two areas. Combat and predator. Especially the challenge mode. Half of the existing achievements are associated with these challenges. On the contrary, this tests all your skills, especially in battle, where you need to collect the maximum specified points.

To get all the achievements in this area, you need: in predator, perform the craziest strategies that can be viewed, press a certain button; in combat, you just need to collect points, which multiply very well when performing all kinds of combat moves. The difficulty lies only in the number and difficulty of enemies. So don't be too afraid of these achievements, because according to my advice, it is better to get them after the main game.
