Pleasantly surprised.

Highly recommend. It is a shame that the first three are not available though.

You're better off sticking with the Classic version of Mafia II.
Definitive Edition is a buggy mess and skips cut-scenes on its own, just to name a few issues I've had with this game.

I do not recommend this teaser.

I think it does not represent the best things about the Gothic series. It does not have the atmosphere, the world, the characters.

-Excessive hand-holding - tutorial is horrendous;
-Annoying protagonist - constantly narrating his actions;
-World not designed to explore/limited freedom - filled with invisible walls and other limitations;
-Combat even weaker than the original - at least original was functional;

-Visually jarring - some effects are overdone to the point of being intrusive;
-Narrow FOV - why camera is so close to the character I'll never know;
-Does not capture the atmosphere of the original - not once did I feel like I'm in any sort of danger.

To put it bluntly - this game/preview gets absolutely everything wrong when it comes to recreating Gothic.

My personal favorite game of 2014.
Marked a great return for Piranha Bytes team after not so great Risen 2.

Great story, great characters, beautiful visuals, excellent voice acting. I loved it. My personal favorite game of the year.

It's the usual From Software quality. Great game!
