If you ask me, it comfortably enters the top 3 best Star Wars games, what Respawn has done with this IP is incredible, for a fan of the saga it is so comforting to have these stories currently that far surpass the Disney trilogy or the spin-off of Solo. As for the bad, the game is highly criticized for performance and optimization problems, and yes, after more than a year, there are still unoptimized areas but with some adjustments applied, the only planet that is not 100% enjoyable. It's Corouscant and well, some performance drops towards the end of the game. Something that in my opinion is very negative is the lack of the Steam overlay, you will not be able to take a single screenshot and the achievement notices are non-existent (Please fix that).

I don't know where to start but... I'm not going to lie to you either, since I opened it for the first time this year, I was hooked even with the first cinematic, if you compare it with Jedi Fallen Order it almost seems like there are light years between one game and another , Survivor is an incredible generational leap. For example, technically we can adjust the speed of the camera along the axes, we have a photo mode that is appreciated for many shots and even skip cutscenes that... if you repeat some in a fight against a boss it is something that is appreciated. As for collectibles, I think it is the best collectibles section in the history of video games. Apart from customizations for Cal or Bd-1, there are many other resources that are introduced to you in a very elaborate and satisfactory way for the player. The planets compared to those of Jedi Fallen Order are more alive, we continue with the mechanics of having a main planet but we are going to spend a lot of time on adjacent planets. Some of them are so immense that it seems like an open world worthy of being called AAAA. In addition, the beauty of the galaxy is transmitted very well.

In terms of gameplay, we have new postures, one more beautiful and dynamic than the other, quite extensive and balanced skill trees, even the parkour or Bd-1 functions have been modified and polished. The puzzles are incredible and the Jedi temples make you fall in love with the Order. Of course, you have to advance in the main story to have all the improvements and different mechanics, both for Cal and for Bd-1.

The plot is one of the most beautiful in the Star Wars universe, much more so if we consider that the main story, from Fallen Order, takes place several years after the execution of Order 66.

As for the campaign, you will be more than satisfied, it is not long, nor short, it is perfect. Without much exploring and detours they can easily exceed 20 hours or even 30. There are rushable and avoidable areas and yes, even though there are drones from the Clone Wars, we do not have a single Clone in the entire game.

Try to enjoy the experience, live it and feel it. Be one with the force.

And remember: "do or do not there is no try." May the force be with you padawan.

First of all, I want to clarify that today, 08/12/2023, Baldur's Gate III has been the winner of the Game of the Year. Now, I leave you with the "small" review, greetings, adventurers.

When a game makes you think about the characters, the choices you've made, the choices you still want to make, the next place you'll want to explore, and the overall progression of the story AFTER you've closed the game and maybe you're in bed or away from home and you can't wait to play again, then something is going terribly right.

This game attracts you in a way that I have rarely felt in anything, it is a different experience, a different reality, it is your own life seen through the eyes of the narrator and your character. You and your character are one.

I'm not a D&D player myself. That's why I barely know the rules, but the game gives you enough information to orient yourself and over time you learn things "playfully".

The world in the game seems so incredibly alive. You never feel like you're "working on" quests because even the quest log is written with written hints, as if you were taking notes on things yourself.

Wandering around the world, you discover something interesting around every corner and get distracted by something on the way to a quest and then you poke around here and there and suddenly half an hour has passed and you have to remember where you're really going. because you've discovered a hidden place that you absolutely wanted to explore "just briefly."

Another point to highlight are the characters. It feels like traveling with "people who live and feel." When you go around the world, depending on the combination you make in the group, people also have things to talk about with each other, some understand each other and joke, others get angry, comments are made here and there. It looks "real." And I don't even want to start with the personal relationships you make with your colleagues. Sometimes you forget that it's just a pre-programmed game.

And then the moral choices you have to make! A simple encounter with an NPC can trigger a powerful story that will leave you not knowing who to believe. Should you believe anyone and who you help and who you don't? Should you help anyone at all? Everything is possible, nothing is mandatory. The possibilities seem endless.

Basically, I just started playing (I'm 30 hours into the game) and I've only seen part of the world so far, I can't even begin to imagine what it will be like when I get to town.

I'm sure I've forgotten a number of things I'd like to praise. Come to think of it, I really don't know how I'm going to justify buying another full-price game in the future given the quantity and, more importantly, the quality you get for what you spend here. I know... it hurts to spend such a large amount of money, but $20,000 (about €60) for this game is really not enough when you see what you get (a finished game with hardly any bugs, nothing to buy through DLC, without microtransactions, you don't have to be in a season pass every month thereafter). You get a game that is just plain fun.

I could have given a thumbs up and left it at that. That's a good thing because no one will read this review anyway. But this GOTY deserves as many words as possible about it. I haven't even begun to do it justice, I could talk about it for much longer.

100% purchase recommendation for the game of the year 2023
