Stop crying about microtransactions, they are not noticeable, they do not exist, they are there in the store like in every Capcom game. If in 7 years of the new capcom you never cried, don't cry in a GOTY candidate. The performance is not excellent but it is not bad either, we are in 2024, if you are going to cry because your 2060 does not run for you, change the graphics, companies do not have to optimize the games so that a 10 year old PC works and however, the performance is higher than it should be. Stop criticizing for the sake of criticizing, value and appreciate games made with love and passion for good company.

Well, let's get serious now. As a Capcom fan in general, I can guarantee that in this game, you will enjoy and feel every corner of the beautiful and perfect RE engine. Which, without a doubt, is the best on the market currently (due to UE5 (which is still a growing baby)). And by perfect, I don't mean its performance, but rather what the developers have been able to achieve, in terms of dialogues, cinematics, characterizations, movements, field details, ground details, footsteps, attitudes, gestures... etc If you want to know about the performance, it is the only weak point of the game (yes, I say only because I am not going to say that the supposed microtransactions exist), As we know, and, from Capcom's mouth, the game does not give the user different graphic sections (low, medium, high, etc.) If not, we have a single section so to speak, which you will be able to customize according to your demands, needs and power. This seems perfect to me, but it leads to many adjacent problems, 70% of players do not review each of these options and have performance problems.

Speaking of performance problems, the game will not close or crash once, now, there will be fps drops, no jerks, no lag, no bugs but yes, fps drops. It has a solution? On the part of the user, clearly not much can be done, because this comes from an error in the game and its communication with the drivers of most graphics, for now the beautiful community has already developed a mod to solve this and it works great (with the exception of the occasional bug) but hey, as I told you, it is the only solution at the moment and it is not official. As of today, 04/03/2024, we would have to wait a couple of weeks for it to be resolved so that we can enjoy this game wonderfully.

Leaving aside the performance and, before talking about the gameplay. I want to clarify something stupid that the press started talking about and the haters continued it... There are no microtransactions, they are not necessary, the game does not ask you to put in 5 dollars to buy something, you don't have a fool putting in money, there is nothing for the style. If you review the last 10 years of Capcom games you will see that their dlcs usually have little extra things, these are things that are unlocked by finishing a campaign, finishing some merit or... doing missions at "x" difficulty. This was never a problem and in this game, neither is it, whoever wants to pay to have things that he will end up getting for free will pay and whoever doesn't, has no reason to complain because they are not being deprived of absolutely anything. They are really only purchases for people who are impatient or who perhaps do not have much time to play and want to do everything faster, since within the game everything is achieved with the internal economy and with the adventure lived.

Finally, what can I tell you about the gameplay section... it is Capcom's best game to date and, without a doubt, the best medieval game (next to Baldur's Gate 3) in existence. It implements mechanics that will surprise you combat by combat, it has artificial intelligence that helps, does not fudge and provides advice, you feel accompanied at all times; do you like freedom? You will have it, you can explore the entire map without having to do a single main mission, you have millions of tactics at your disposal on how to defeat an enemy, the secondary missions are not heavy or necessary. In this game, if what you want is an adventure and to belong to it, you are going to feel it and get it in minute 1. Does it have any objectionable things? Obviously, it is programmed by people and we are not perfect but... they are very detailed, you have to look at them with a magnifying glass, like for example... being a fighter, like in almost all existing games, is always the same, you press two buttons and you kill, you destroy but you have a good time, you don't get bored. And, speaking of classes, this game is wonderful. You have 4 main classes, of which you will vary or stay, depending on your tastes and desire or intentions to do something.

In short, if you liked 1, are a Capcom fan or need to live your own medieval adventure, you will love Dragon's Dogma 2. The combat is efficient and fluid. Both in mobility, animations and attacks of enemies and your group.
The soundtrack is very good, I think RE4 Remake's is better but it is very good.
At the graphics level, for me the Re engine is spectacular but well, the open world is somewhat flat although one is entertained with the missions, combats, lighting and small details.
The difficulty is not very high, so if you are a Souls player on difficulty, you will not find it in this game unless you go to a very low level area, which I do not recommend unless you want to die stabbed by drakes the entire game. .
There are quite a few missions available and a lot to explore.
The game's performance in the open world and combat goes smoothly.
I don't like to rate Capcom games with a number but I think it's a resounding 8; It has things to improve and it would be a 10 if it had cooperative or multiplayer. Without a doubt a candidate for GOTY 2024.

First of all, I want to clarify that today, 08/12/2023, Baldur's Gate III has been the winner of the Game of the Year. Now, I leave you with the "small" review, greetings, adventurers.

When a game makes you think about the characters, the choices you've made, the choices you still want to make, the next place you'll want to explore, and the overall progression of the story AFTER you've closed the game and maybe you're in bed or away from home and you can't wait to play again, then something is going terribly right.

This game attracts you in a way that I have rarely felt in anything, it is a different experience, a different reality, it is your own life seen through the eyes of the narrator and your character. You and your character are one.

I'm not a D&D player myself. That's why I barely know the rules, but the game gives you enough information to orient yourself and over time you learn things "playfully".

The world in the game seems so incredibly alive. You never feel like you're "working on" quests because even the quest log is written with written hints, as if you were taking notes on things yourself.

Wandering around the world, you discover something interesting around every corner and get distracted by something on the way to a quest and then you poke around here and there and suddenly half an hour has passed and you have to remember where you're really going. because you've discovered a hidden place that you absolutely wanted to explore "just briefly."

Another point to highlight are the characters. It feels like traveling with "people who live and feel." When you go around the world, depending on the combination you make in the group, people also have things to talk about with each other, some understand each other and joke, others get angry, comments are made here and there. It looks "real." And I don't even want to start with the personal relationships you make with your colleagues. Sometimes you forget that it's just a pre-programmed game.

And then the moral choices you have to make! A simple encounter with an NPC can trigger a powerful story that will leave you not knowing who to believe. Should you believe anyone and who you help and who you don't? Should you help anyone at all? Everything is possible, nothing is mandatory. The possibilities seem endless.

Basically, I just started playing (I'm 30 hours into the game) and I've only seen part of the world so far, I can't even begin to imagine what it will be like when I get to town.

I'm sure I've forgotten a number of things I'd like to praise. Come to think of it, I really don't know how I'm going to justify buying another full-price game in the future given the quantity and, more importantly, the quality you get for what you spend here. I know... it hurts to spend such a large amount of money, but $20,000 (about €60) for this game is really not enough when you see what you get (a finished game with hardly any bugs, nothing to buy through DLC, without microtransactions, you don't have to be in a season pass every month thereafter). You get a game that is just plain fun.

I could have given a thumbs up and left it at that. That's a good thing because no one will read this review anyway. But this GOTY deserves as many words as possible about it. I haven't even begun to do it justice, I could talk about it for much longer.

100% purchase recommendation for the game of the year 2023
