If you want to keep the physics based system like you have now you will need to use compound colliders to separate your mesh into convex portions.

I think I'll re-do my mod so it's just the different colored chips that players can use with your wheel :3
Using the chess piece to spin the wheel is clever. I had to lower the lift height a little bit for a better spin.
Messing with the physics settings might help (friction etc.)
