@Mile, could you, please update Better Surgery too? thanks in advance.
SpaceDorf 25 Nov, 2023 @ 5:42am
just found it, thank you :)
The Bard of Hearts 18 Nov, 2023 @ 6:53pm
Thanks for keeping it going for as long as you did. You're nothing short of awesome, Mlie.
Mlie  [author] 4 Nov, 2023 @ 11:03am
Please use Better Surgery instead
DAOWAce 9 Aug, 2023 @ 6:35am
Ah, it's deprecated..

Was having errors spammed a lot when sterilizing animals, finally looked into it and it was being caused by this.

Guess it's time to convert over to that Biotech compatible mod linked a comment back.

Thanks for supporting the mod up until this point; as you do so many others. Can't imagine the amount of work involved.
PlagueRaven 2 Jul, 2023 @ 4:31pm
I'm still playing my 1.3 colony right now, and this helps so darn much.

Better Surgery looks like a Biotech-compatible alternative.
Velvet 12 Jun, 2023 @ 11:56am
@RoyDovah To my knowledge nothing in vanilla 1.4 makes use of the new surgery code, its only used in Biotech. However, since the code exists in vanilla 1.4 mods can make use of it without requiring biotech, so it may potentially interfere with your mods.
CubicP1sa 30 Apr, 2023 @ 3:10pm
unironically one of the best mods
Mlie  [author] 14 Mar, 2023 @ 5:49am
@Jaywack It is updated. Read the description fully to see the cause of the Depricated tag
Jaywack 14 Mar, 2023 @ 5:45am
@Mile Might as well get rid of the 1.4 tag then if you aren't going to update it. Misleading info.
Mlie  [author] 21 Feb, 2023 @ 9:59pm
@RoyDovah As stated, 1.4 changed the surgery system.
RoyRiper 21 Feb, 2023 @ 4:12pm
If I don't use any dlc, is this mod still useful? Or is it still outdated? Since I do not understand well why it is no longer useful
bungus 24 Jan, 2023 @ 1:48pm
Thank you very much for updating the title, makes going through your list of subscribed mods to find old and broken things much more convenient
Mlie  [author] 23 Jan, 2023 @ 9:45pm
@Pudding Deity Good idea, fixed now
Velvet 23 Jan, 2023 @ 2:21pm
@Mlie Any chance you could put that in the title? I feel like making it clearer that its deprecated would make it more likely that someone might make a new surgery mod.

Totally understandable that you don't want to fix it yourself with the ridiculous number of mods you maintain, though. You already do far more than any of us could ask of you.
Ares | GermanIsopod 20 Jan, 2023 @ 1:50pm
After all those years.... I only now got the General Grievous reference.

I feel so dumb now x)
Tagek 28 Nov, 2022 @ 3:26am
That's unfortunate but very understandable! Thanks for your effort regardless.
Ads 28 Nov, 2022 @ 1:47am
Completely fair, thank you for the work that you do :)
Mlie  [author] 28 Nov, 2022 @ 1:43am
@Ads @Tagek I see. Yea the whole premise of this mod is pretty broken with the new surgery code. Basically all surgeries now have possible outcomes in their definition. This mod currently overrules that as it would require a full rewrite of it to sort-of work with the new system.
That is nothing I am planning on doing so consider this mod depricated.

A xenogerm is "A self-contained biological organ containing one or more implantable xenogenes"
It's how you add genes to colonists in-game and after you implant them into Pawns through an Operation, it causes them to enter a 1-3 day coma depending on the quality of the surgery of implanting them.

But Tagek is saying that it doesn't cause the coma and they wake up from the anaesthetic as with any other operation.
Mlie  [author] 27 Nov, 2022 @ 12:56pm
@Tagek Havent looked into the DLC-stuff. What is a xenogerm?
Tagek 27 Nov, 2022 @ 12:54pm
There seems to be a bug with implementing xenogerms with this mod. When I install a genogerm the pawn is supposed to go into a coma for a while (aside from anesthetic), but that doesn't happen. When I uninstall less arbitary surgery and try again the pawn does go into the coma upon implanting the xenogerm.
Hauke 8 Nov, 2022 @ 6:52am
Thanks for updating to 1.4! Where can I send money to buy you a beer?
RedGlobe 6 Nov, 2022 @ 7:02am
Ahhh ... dang it Steam. Yes, this error goes on me. Thanks for answering though! Keep up the great work! :)
Mlie  [author] 6 Nov, 2022 @ 5:36am
@RedGlobe You are not using the latest version. 1.4.2 is the fixed version of the mod
RedGlobe 6 Nov, 2022 @ 5:32am
Error on finishing the surgery is straight at the end:

@Mlie First of thanks for updating this mutch needed mod. Yet, I still got the issue with the "Terminate pregnancy" surgery. It still gets done over and over without the hediff disappearing.
Mlie  [author] 6 Nov, 2022 @ 2:41am
@Unfaventia Please share a link to any log instead of trying to share it in the comments. See ”Reporting Issues” for details on how to do that
Unfaventia 6 Nov, 2022 @ 2:12am
Love this mod and appreciate you keeping it updated! Coming back to the game with the new DLC release I seem to be encountering an issue with my pawns where I can't replace/fix destroyed limbs or organs (like eyes). Medics do the surgery and the bionic/prosthetic is consumed but no change to my pawn. I can't even Devedit the bionic replacement in or restore the missing limb/organ. First error log is after surgery attempt and second is the one I got when trying to Devedit:
Tablenack 5 Nov, 2022 @ 5:46pm
nice thanks
The last Eternal 5 Nov, 2022 @ 5:11pm
THANKS!!!
DangLonsDo 5 Nov, 2022 @ 1:25pm
ah yes now i can no longer witness someone "acidentally" remove someone entire leg when it should have been the foot but to implant a single toe
Mlie  [author] 5 Nov, 2022 @ 11:34am
@All Surgeries should work now
JoeOwnage 5 Nov, 2022 @ 7:28am
+1, surgery completes but no hediff is applied
meelock 5 Nov, 2022 @ 12:18am
The second issue seems to be fixed after an update of other mods, this mod should be save-safe!
meelock 4 Nov, 2022 @ 11:39pm
https://github.com/emipa606/LessArbitrarySurgery/issues/2 Now no-one needs to post the same issue again.
meelock 4 Nov, 2022 @ 8:21pm
Another issue, this mod is save compatable going in, but not out. The game will not save if it is removed. So everyone, be warned!
The Bard of Hearts 4 Nov, 2022 @ 8:05pm
Same as meelock
sam1373 4 Nov, 2022 @ 6:52pm
same issue as meelock
meelock 4 Nov, 2022 @ 6:12pm
This mod, or a mod in connection with it seems to be preventing the success of medical procedures other than tending wounds. When I tried to take out a colonists eye, the eye remained. When I tried to install a arcotech eye over a normal one, the arcotech eye was consumed and the normal eye remained.
Tomahawk 4 Nov, 2022 @ 4:48pm
jeej, 1.4!
Victor 4 Nov, 2022 @ 2:06pm
Thanks Mlie!
MrSpacePenguin 3 Nov, 2022 @ 2:36am
love your mod mile, hope you are doing well
eighmy_lupin 30 Oct, 2022 @ 7:47pm
Miles has literally hundreds of mods he's maintaining. He'll get to this one as soon as he can, but please understand he has A LOT of his plate.
The last Eternal 30 Oct, 2022 @ 1:51pm
Thanks in advance!!! This mod is very much needed so yeah. Thanks for your time!!
Skeletonking 30 Oct, 2022 @ 9:58am
pls I need this for 1.4. I hate surgery otherwise
Brassica Prime 29 Oct, 2022 @ 4:59pm
one of the best rimworld modders in the community for sure
Amii 28 Oct, 2022 @ 9:36am
Hey guy, love the mod, take your time.
