Material Filter

This mod breaks the vanilla food policy restriction filters.

Meaning it bypasses the selection for meat/vegetarian/insect/human, etc. With this mod, the pawn selects any meal and disregards its content.

Also, it seems it is not safe to remove mid game. Upon removal, a LOT of errors seemingly related to Hauling happen. I didn't see in the logs errors related to apparel policy, but it is possible.

This mod seems to remove the Defaults button from Animal Controls on the Food Policy tab: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2426119067
VitaKaninen 5 Jul @ 5:22am
@LordHeadass You would make a new policy, and then at the top, click the filter button to only allow them to wear clothing made from that specific material. Then you would set up a separate policy that only uses the other material.

This will apply to the entire policy, so if you wanted them to wear hats made of devilstrand, but dusters made of hyperweave in the same policy, this would not work. I tend to not use this since I like them to wear Bioferrite slave collars, but the rest of the clothes made from other materials.

One option you might try is to use Colony Groups, and assign clothing colors to each group. Whenever they go put on a new piece of clothing, they will automatically dye it to whatever color you have assigned to them.

Is there a mod that makes this applicable to individual apparel policies? This one seems to apply the restrictions to all clothing rather than by the policy/item you've got selected.

I'm trying to get two groups (based on apparel policy) to wear the same article of clothing but have one group only wear hyperweave and the other only wear devilstrand (sue me, i'm ex-military and like things uniform and organized). Or maybe this mod does it and I'm doing something wrong?

This mod is so needed for late game, I thank you sir for your dedicated service, and this LOVELY mod.
pgames-food 14 Jun @ 3:08pm
(yeah i was looking for one) :)
MightyMit 14 Jun @ 5:39am
Is there an equivalent of this for food?
Madlark 2 May @ 9:37am
How. Did I ever. Live without this.
Daint Savid 1 May @ 1:26pm

VitaKaninen 1 May @ 5:36am
Thanks!
Kami Katze  [author] 1 May @ 5:33am
Yay, 1.5 is here!
Please check your set filters ingame, it may be possible that they got reset, because some game code changed.
Daint Savid 26 Apr @ 11:39am
Same this mod is seriously everything to me during my runs, got one going for 1.5 but holding off on some stuff until the Author is finished.
oXslothXo 26 Apr @ 12:27am
I legit cant wait for this!:D I love this mod sooooooo much!!:D
Daint Savid 22 Apr @ 1:55pm
You rock bro! Been checking every day :steamhappy:
Mr White Wizard 21 Apr @ 12:46am
We are all very grateful, thank you.
Kami Katze  [author] 20 Apr @ 4:31pm
Okok, man they should stop upgrading :D Gimme ~1-2 weeks :)
VitaKaninen 19 Apr @ 4:50am
I have tried it. Does not work currently
Mr White Wizard 19 Apr @ 2:56am
Anyone tried this in 1.5 yet?
Daint Savid 15 Apr @ 6:29pm
This mod is legit probably in my top 5 favorite mods, makes organizing so much easier. Hoping for 1.5!
Evanduril 14 Apr @ 10:09am
@VitaKaninen There are few mods i would refuse to play without them. Not this one for me, but there are some. So maybe he has the same :)
VitaKaninen 14 Apr @ 6:57am
As opposed to what?

Do you mean you are not going to play 1.5 unless they update this mod?
Andy Mask 14 Apr @ 6:54am
Is it worth waiting for the upgrade to 1.5?
小黄鸭 14 Apr @ 1:32am
1.5plz
Daint Savid 13 Apr @ 10:14pm
You able to update to 1.5?
thorman123456789 12 Apr @ 6:22pm
1.5?
Torres 15 Mar @ 2:37pm
Seriously this should be added to the base game, or to those "big shots" vanilla extended series mods... I mean I can truly organize shit with this and organizing is how you conquer the Rim
Kami Katze  [author] 23 Jan @ 9:42am
@Vartarhoz: Big maybe on the search bar, at least the list is already sorted alphabetically :)
@BlackMage: Outfits are mentioned right there in the title of the description ;) Although it was a happy accident in the beginning :D
BlackMage 22 Jan @ 7:58am
Thank you for this. Though maybe unintended, this allows me to filter outfits by material so that my non-cannibal colonist isn't freaking out by wearing human leather outfits, while still keeping the others happy. It was difficult to find something that would work for this niche issue, so I appreciate it!
Vartarhoz 20 Jan @ 12:25pm
This def needs search bar or tags at least since really hassle to find materials you want. If someone takes over this mod that would be awesome. Since author stopped playing game.
Kami Katze  [author] 14 Jan @ 11:08am
@Darkcow: That's from a mod called Stockpile Stack Limit
Darkcow 13 Jan @ 12:56pm
Total Stack Limit shown in the screen shot is part of the this mod too? Does not appear on my game.
Shazzamon 12 Jan @ 12:00am
Absolute lifesaver of a mod for big endgame colonies, bless you. c:
Derrick da Fox 3 Nov, 2023 @ 7:18pm
Fair enough, thank you for the wonderful mod anyways <3
Kami Katze  [author] 3 Nov, 2023 @ 4:50pm
I haven't played rimworld in like 3-5 years, i don't think I will add any new features to this mod, sry :)
Derrick da Fox 2 Nov, 2023 @ 7:27am
You should also add a filter for when making bills, to count the item made with the filter your colony has, such as, counting how many pants you have, made with the filtered material, such as cloth when "Do until you have" next to "Count Tainted" and "Count Equipped"
Derrick da Fox 2 Nov, 2023 @ 6:40am
YES, I was looking for this!!
lloki 1 Jun, 2023 @ 10:31am
Hi there. Would you consider to remove the HugsLib dependency? The mod wasn't updated for many months and it's making more and more problems. The author seems to be MIA.
NuanKi 18 May, 2023 @ 2:54pm
I haven't installed the mod yet, but I see that it has a translation for Spanish (Spain), could you add the Latin Spanish translation? (duplicate the Spanish one and rename the folder)
BoredomVirusXP 16 Mar, 2023 @ 4:28am
Since you've saved me from accidentally burning my tainted hyperweave booty shorts, I'm going to honour you with a Thrumbo T-sh... oh wait i think i burnt that one before I installed this mod.
sassafras 23 Jan, 2023 @ 11:20pm
a must have
Defyant 6 Nov, 2022 @ 4:18pm
+1 for the same graphical glitch as @Umptor is having, I can still tick and use the mod so it is a minor (if annoying) issue. But this is one of my must have mods so its not going to stop me from using it.
Umptor 5 Nov, 2022 @ 12:45pm
Great mod, exactly what I was looking for. I chose the vegan meme and got frustrated that people kept wearing automatically wearing non-vegan clothing and getting butthurt about it.

I just wanted to let you know I have a weird UI bug. I'm not sure if it's some weird incompatibility or something on my end:

https://imgur.com/a/X2kkmgL
The "hitbox" for the Xs are in the right place. Only the UI is wrong.

Also is it possible to categorize the list like a stockpile does or at least at a search bar? It can get a bit tedious when you have a lot of items to go through.
almar456 31 Oct, 2022 @ 1:50pm
Thank you gamer
Kami Katze  [author] 25 Oct, 2022 @ 10:33am
yo, this mod creates a 'specialThingFilter' for every material in the game and every stockpile, shelf and outfit in your savegame has to save the settings for each of them, so if you have like 500 additional materials and maybe dozens of stockpiles/shelves, it's gonna cost some memory/storage space.
I don't think there's a workaround for that unfortunately
Eloquent, My Dear 25 Oct, 2022 @ 9:56am
thank you for quick update <3
Pawmee 24 Oct, 2022 @ 2:44am
please update for 1.4
Nopm 18 Sep, 2022 @ 9:52am
To anyone with issues: this mod likely has a memory leak. It does >not< behave well on giant modpacks (500+ mods). It's not worth the convenience you get.
Damon_Vi 31 Aug, 2022 @ 6:32pm
@ultraEmailMan i would love to do that, but i have the monster hunter rimworld mod, which adds a ton of leathers, one for each monster. regardless of how i loaded the leather optimization c+ mod, it always overwrote the monster hunter leathers, which completely defeats the purpose. any tricks to get around this?
