along with its sequel, some of the best dungeon crawlers you can play. challenging puzzles, fun combat, good atmosphere. rewarding, interesting, well-made.

overall, it's good. but I'm of mixed minds. you kind of run out of ♥♥♥♥ to do pretty early on, and later levels are just "here's a whole bunch of zombies you'll want to just run past". even just hanging out in the city, zombies mob you from out of nowhere and sap a good bit of the exploration's joy. and the ending... let's not talk about that. the parkour is fun, but even that starts to get a bit exhausting after you've climbed your fifth radio tower.

the open-world portions are incredible

it's like streets of rage, disgaea, and castlevania had a horribly addictive baby

moody atmosphere, lovely music, frenetic and fun combat, and rewarding exploration. it's a yes from me, dawg

fantastic homage to psx/snes era RPGs with a lot of modern touches thrown in.

some will be pleased the king is dead, but a life is a life, and in death we are all united.

uhhh it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ classic
