Just do yourself a favor and buy this. Full price. It's worth every penny. It's the best of everything 90's in a shooter which is what we all want. Movement. Combat. Music. Technically solid as a rock. We need more of these shooters. Support the ones that do it right.

This game is a love letter to fans of the Monkey Island series.

In the beginning I wasn't happy with the art direction but that all faded away in a comfortable nostalgic vapor.

I began to remember when I played that first Monkey Island game so many years ago. Looking up on the top of my bookshelf I saw the big box copy of Curse of Monkey Island and all those memories came flooding back as well. This is a series that in many ways began my gaming career that has lasted 30+ years now. Each time a game would release I would revisit all these wonderful characters again that somehow feel like family. Through college, marriage, having kids, and empty nest syndrome - these games provided something special at each step throughout the years and this game really hit home with closure I wasn't expecting. I sense this is the end for this series and I am both happy and sad. All good things come to an end and this was a fitting conclusion to the story and all the meaning behind it.

For those who think gaming is merely for fun, a momentary respite from whatever is bothering you that day I am here to tell you that is wrong. Games like these touch you and bond with you, almost like a silent companion through the years. If this is truly the end, I feel blessed to have been there are the beginning marveling at those amazing pixelated graphics cursing trying to get my PC to run it.

If for some reason you are buying this game before playing all the others, but it, but don't play it. Yet. Just do yourself a favor and take the time to play through the previous 5 games. This will mean so much more if you do.
