Great game, amazing atmosphere and some genuinely scary moments. They really nailed the whole old-school horror feel while somehow turning it into a fast paced and satisfying fps. Banger soundtrack.

Also the movement is fun as hell once you figure some of its tricks out. Would recommend for sure!

A very wonderful modern classic boomer shooter with references to former media and fellow media all over. The sound is done wonderfully, the soundtrack is phenomenal (in and out of the game listening), and overall the experience is repeatable solely in just the fun it is to play.

The art direction is inspired and paying homage rather than dirty or blocky, both in the original version and the HD version. The enemy variety is great and the progression of what little story they allude to as you play is fulfilling. The game has its great balance of funny and enjoyable, there are plenty of secrets to find in each level, and you can beat every level without killing anyone: including the bosses (except the last level).

I cannot recommend this game enough for all that it brings, especially with modding support that's to come. I've gone back and replayed it many times on the hardest difficulty and the second hardest, and the lower difficulties outright change enemy attacks to be slower and less harmful. Playing this at lower difficulties might be a really good option for someone's first FPS.

I hesitate to give out perfect 10s, so I'll come close to say this game can range from a 9/10 to a 9.9/10 in my books. Now all I got to do is Completionist every level and pick up all the soap.

A Worthy successor to Quake. Don't sleep on DUSKWORLD (the multiplayer mode), it's among the best feeling arena shooters money can buy.
