Just gonna start by saying that this game is absolutely incredible. The emotions that unleash throughout your journey feel so real sometimes, obviously it doesn't perfectly depict real life but no matter how much loss and demotivation the main characters go through they always find a way to move forward, and I think that's incredibly strong and inspiring.

for context: you start the game by playing as Joel's daughter, Sarah

It all starts out in chaos. You wake up in bed in the middle of the night, a newly found infectious disease is displayed all over the news and it states people are turning into zombie like creatures, you go downstairs to see your father fighting off a neighbor that has turned, and it results into him having to shoot the neighbor with a shotgun to the head, which is traumatizing to Sarah. Joel's brother Jonathan comes to pick them up and get them somewhere safe, but they soon realize that a lot of other people were planning to do the same. With traffic everywhere they have no choice but go through the city, where they end up being attacked. After some tough attacking Joel & Sarah has to part ways with Jonathan, they take it upon themselves to go on foot, and after a little bit of walking, running and fightning they stumble upon a military soldier, who first asks if they're infected, Joel says no, but the soldier was extremely paranoid and he ends up shooting and killing Sarah. What a way to make the player cry within the first 10 minutes, the rest is up for you who's reading to experience for yourself. When I said the game was incredible I meant it.
