I beat this game on Nintendo Switch in 2018. I played it again on Steam just to post this review, cause this game holds a special place in my heart!

Celeste is a REALLY HARD game! You WILL DIE, A LOT! Despite of its difficulty, the story kept me playing. Celeste is about mental health and fighting your inner demons, which I can relate so much. I suffered a severe anxiety in 2018, it was the worst year for me. But I am not going into details about that. What's important is, Celeste got me through tough times that year!

Anxiety is the most obvious theme of this game. To me, the mountain that Maddy tried to climb in this game is her own struggle with anxiety, self-doubts and her negative thoughts, and the mountain is her attempt to escape and break free.

This game thought me that ignoring our problem is not a solution. It's a reminder that even in our darkest moments, there's a way forward. Through Maddy's journey, I learned that it's okay to acknowledge our vulnerabilities and seek help when needed.

If you're looking for a game that will not only challenge your reflexes but also touch your heart and soul, look no further than Celeste. It's a journey you won't soon forget!

I've played through the game and it's B-Sides now, so you know the progress when this Review has been written.

This game is very recommendable. The story is very well thought out and there's not a lot I can add to that. The controls are easy to learn and hard to master and if they are something, they are very snappy and you always feel like you're in control in every situation. This game tests your patience and endurance very thoroughly and at no point did I have the feeling that something in the game made me fail at something, it rather showed me what I did wrong and how I can do it better next time (most of the time, there were 1 or 2 occurrences, where I just didn't know how to continue, but not in the main Storyline). This game is difficult, but the difficulty doesn't hold you back on progress forever as you progress from room to room and you can save whenever you like to. Taking regular breaks from this game also helps a lot.

The graphics are simple, yet still complex and beautiful (and that might sound contradictory but I really mean it). I'm also pretty sure that this game will run on almost any PC, as it doesn't need a lot of power to run. It also works flawlessly on linux, even with mods, and those will work cross platform too if you want to play Multiplayer.

That's really it. This game is well worth it's 20€ Prizetag, I can very much recommend you this game, you'll probably enjoy it if you don't stress yourself too much.
