Paradise Killer is a masterclass in how to create an immersive and intriguing murder mystery game. You play as Lady Love Dies, the so called "investigation freak" brought out of exile in order to uncover the mystery behind the crime of all crimes.

Gameplay
A large majority of the game is, as you would expect in a murder mystery game, uncovering clues scattered about the island and interrogating suspects. The island is quite large and features an almost collectathon like aspect with currency to pick up around every corner and many world building trinkets to discover. This along with unexpected and intriguing clues hidden in every nook and cranny will leave you wanting to leave no stone unturned in your search for the truth. The cast of characters are extremely colorful and interesting, making interrogation and questioning always a fun time. Piecing together all of the clues and slowly figuring out the bigger picture is extremely satisfying, and especially hits the mark as you bring everything together in the final climactic trial.

Visuals & Sound
Paradise Killer has an incredibly beautiful vaporwave inspired artstyle and soundtrack. Exploring the massive island and all it's various extremely detailed sub areas is a visual treat, and accompanied by the incredible music made every second of exploration enjoyable. The character designs, transitions, and framing of information all drip with a stylistic flair that anybody could enjoy. As someone that usually skips credits, I can say the song playing during the credits was so good all I could do was sit back and bob my head along to the tunes.

Story
The world and setting of Paradise Killer is unconventional yet absolutely enthralling. In a world where humans are kidnapped and enslaved to worship dead gods in order to revive them, you are an immortal member of a morally questionable group known as the Syndicate. As an investigator who just returned from a 3,000,000 day exile for illegally consorting with a god, it is your job to interrogate your fellow Syndicate members and uncover which one of them engaged in the conspiracy to kill the Council. As any good murder mystery should do, this story will twist, turn, and surprise you as you navigate through the web of lies and contradictions and forge the truth of what truly happened that night.

Verdict
Paradise Killer is a stylistic and engaging murder mystery that will leave you thinking and wanting for more until you finally piece it all together. An incredible entry into the murder mystery genre and one that I hope more people will come to know and appreciate. If you are a fan of the genre and games like Danganronpa, you owe it to yourself to give this incredible game a shot!
