Doom
- MG was tasked with making the soundtrack in a vacuum, before reference materials were nearing complete.
- MG is crunching throughout development due to consistent rejection of approval of assets at the last minute
- Id withheld payment from MG, stating they were not satisfied with his output
- Turns out Id were stalling to get extra unpaid work and assets from MG
- MG not paid for the best part of a year
- Extra content made by MG was used in the game and promo anyway, he was not paid for this, even though he was entitled via contract.
- Id announce Collector's Edition at E3, including an OST made by MG without consulting him, no contract has been agreed.
- MG continually tries to initiate talks about a contract regarding OST, is constantly ignored and disregarded for nine months.
- MG has to bypass Id and talk to Bethesda directly, a contract is hammered out without Stratton.
- Due to approaching deadline, OST is 12 songs to be made in 29 days. More crunch.
- Bethesda agrees deadline is flexible, Stratton lies and says deadline must be adhered to, threatening consumer protection breach for Id advertising OST through no fault of MG.
- Id had been working on an internal OST, using MG's in game and unpaid assets. It's a total hackjob.
- Id had been working on their hacked OST for six months, ripping of verbatim demo tracks, Id audio director steals credit
- MG raises concerns about the shoddy nature of the edits, is shouted down and eventually shut out until the soundtrack releases and is a disaster.
- Poor reception of the soundtrack spurs Stratton to contact MG, feigning reconciliation
- MG agrees to cooperate in good faith, days later Stratton puts MG on blast on reddit in a rant full of lies.
- Reddit post results in MG receiving abuse and death threats
- MG goes into legal negotiations, Id and Stratton try to pay MG to shut up and take all the blame
- MG offers to redo OST properly and wants a retraction of the reddit post and apology
- Stalling from Stratton's lawyers over months of back and forth, constantly repeating the offer to take all blame for $$
- MG appeals to the reddit mods to remove the post, explaining the situation and abuse he has received, they agree
- Reddit post is reinstated, Stratton is offended that his slander was removed
- Stratton and co. repeatedly stonewall and gaslight
- MG is left with no option but to post receipts
