An unreal experience. We're in times in which games with "small" developers like Dave The Diver are 10 times better made than AAA games, and yes you probably heard this sentence a lot, but believe me, Dave The Diver is the perfect example for it.
This game is a well made, optimized, fun, creative game filled with the love of the developers and great humor. When playing games, do you ever feel like "damn dude whoever made this game REALLY loved making it and really tried their best for a good finish result." This is one of those games, and it's not about you liking the idea, gameplay or story of the game, but trust me when I say this, you might not even like the game, but you WILL feel the love the developers put into this game.

What I loved the most about Dave The Diver, is the gameplay of it. it's like as if multiple games are gathered in one and in a good way. It's kind of like a open-world tycoon, RPG, story line game.
The story is great, the characters are amazing, the soundtrack and overall sound section of the game is good, but could've been waaayyy better. maybe more sound effects, more soundtracks, and also more animations.

There isn't any bug in the game really. at least I didn't experience any. there are some very unnecessary things though. Like every time you research a new dish, or get on a Beluga, there's this cut scene playing that was very fun at first, but got repetitive and annoying after a while. You can skip them, but still, maybe they could've just made some short animations for them instead of a full cut scene, and made cut scenes only for some special dishes being researched or something.


I never got bored playing this game, never. There's always new content in the game after you progress a bit, and it continues on and on. Playing the game for fun, doing things I like and completing the story, it took me about 32 hours to finish this game. It's definitely possible to finish it in like 16 hours or so, and you can also have 50+ hours in it if you really love exploring the sea and operating a sushi bar even after you finished the game.
It was definitely worth the price considering the fun I had playing it.

If I had to sum up Dave the diver in one word, after finishing all achievements, recipes unlocked, all staff max leveled and Marinca in gold DLC fish included (chu chu), that word would be : wholesome. Game is funny, relaxing (though stressful at times), memeful even. At one point I did get overwhelmed and even annoyed by the amount of mini-games I had to keep track of, but after realizing I'm free to pace myself as I like, I just rolled with it. I can imagine that such game structure with multiple mini-games could be a turn off for someone. Plus, there is a good amount of grind involved towards mid-late game, which can be frustrating. Personally I wish there was a way to speed up certain things, like turn off cutscenes and a "buy all" button - though I also realize that options to cut corners would likely take away from the charm of the game, so all in all I'm happy with the game the way it is.

In short, this game is guaranteed to make you smile, crave sushi, and yell "get rotated, idiot" whenever you win a shark battle.

Hours and hours of time well spent in the aqua deeps among all manner of different a specie. After a supreme catch, it's time for a nice fast paced sushi serving game that never overstays its welcome. I developed an intense fondness for the pixel art and loved the characters that enveloped them. Easy breezy, playful and charming - definitely worth a play!
