El juego sigue la historia del detective Sebastian Castellanos, quien se encuentra atrapado en un mundo lleno de horrores y pesadillas. Después de un encuentro traumático con un ser misterioso y poderoso, Sebastian se despierta en un mundo retorcido y lleno de criaturas grotescas. Su objetivo es descubrir la verdad detrás de lo que está sucediendo y encontrar una salida.
Una de las cosas más destacadas de The Evil Within es su atmósfera aterradora y opresiva. Los escenarios oscuros y detallados, combinados con una banda sonora inquietante, crean una sensación constante de tensión y miedo. Cada paso que das puede ser potencialmente peligroso, lo que te mantiene en constante alerta y te sumerge por completo en la experiencia.
La jugabilidad de The Evil Within es desafiante y te obliga a tomar decisiones estratégicas para sobrevivir. Los recursos son escasos, por lo que debes administrar cuidadosamente tus municiones y suministros médicos. Además, enfrentarás enemigos poderosos y aterradores que requerirán habilidad y astucia para derrotar.
