Pros: the best gameplay of any 3D sonic game, you can literally customize how sonic moves exactly to your liking

cyberspace levels, which are redesigns of old sonic levels, feel amazing to play with this version of sonic

the music is very good

Cons: reused assets from previous games and generic looking environment: rails, platforms, springs and fans etc. are all the same

there is bad popping even on the best possible settings and I personally get terrible screen tearing unless I turn on v sync

the same 3 animations play on objects you frequently interact with, this is just pointless even if you can skip them

in some areas the camera is either completely restricted or positioned in a place that makes it hard to see for the sake of being cinematic


despite the cons, I would recommend this game if you like sonic, platformers, or like fast paced action

Top tier music, sound design, visuals, and game play. It is extremely fun and feels very rewarding to explore and unlock new weapons, skills, and other upgrades. It's the kind of game you will want to play again after beating it because you can approach every challenge in the entire game in so many meaningfully different ways.

Terrible balance and half of the item descriptions are completely wrong resulting in nobody knowing what anything actually is supposed to do. For example faction armor does not offer a critical hit % damage decrease, but instead is just a flat % damage decrease at the moment. We don't even know if this is the original intentional or if other items that are not faction gear with the same critical defense skill decrease by a flat amount as well.

Game seems awesome, but even at the cap fps it looks "choppy" for a lack of better words and I have terrible input delay. I would happily change my review if these issues were addressed.

as somebody who didnt even pay for the game i have to say, i dont like how they handle new content (all of it cost money or a fair grind to unlock)
