The game at launch was a low B. The game after the crazy amount of patches and free DLC released is a solid B+. The game nowadays with some mods off of GameBanana (I used Vanilla+ Experience and Graphics Enhancement for my first playthrough) is a pretty strong A-. Recommend picking this up if it's like $45 or under if you want to feel like you got a great deal.

While it doesn't hit the highs of some of the greatest open world puzzle/collectathon games, I still enjoyed myself the entire time I've been playing this. The game has a great balance of variety and length, so I never felt that annoying grindy Ubisoft effect. The soundtrack also has NO right to go this hard, even by Sonic standards. If this game had some more time in the oven, I could see it rivaling the likes of Mario Odyssey, which I consider one of the best games within this niche.

While I know Sonic Team isn't known for making conventional sequels, a direct continuation that builds on this formula would be super exciting. There's a lot of potential here.
