Its fun for sure. Hard and the different mobs, bosses, and environments leave lots to be explored.

6/10 in its current state due to some class balance issues and forced PVP.

The major con is PVP. Why is this forced? This game would be a lot more fun if it was a choice like any other game.

As of Nov 25, this game is much better than previously reviewed. Devs seem to be fixing the issues and making it the game it was meant to be. If you are looking for a refresh of Cities1, you have come to the right place.

Leaving my old review which was posted at launch for reference:

This seems like the natural evolution of Cities, however I feel like its missing something. There is a lot of fine tuning left on this game to make it work the way I feel it should by this point in the series. It feels like a lot of new programmers worked on this, verses the programmers who already learned these lessons. I like my roads to be straight and in-line with each other. It seems some features were added to assist, but lets focus on some basics. In math, there is only one version of 90 degrees, in this game, there are many. If that doesn't frustrate you, then this game is for you. The game allows too much variation between 90 and 91 degrees, and when you are making a city where you want the roads to line up many KM down the line, you need them to stay consistently on track. This is my biggest frustration. Hopefully that gets patched. The only other complaint is the optimization. The game runs well enough on my PC, but I feel that it should look substantially better than Skylines 1, and I do not feel it does. There seems to be less detail when you zoom in close. A few times I've played, all the cars are colorless. I'm not sure what causes this, but I presume optimization will correct in the next few patches.
If you are expecting a finished and polished game, I don't think we get those anymore as a general rule. This is a phase 1 beta launch as of Nov 4, 2023. Its a functioning game, and fully playable. Just needs some fine tuning and slight improvements to make this the mega city builder we should come to expect after decades of this game type.
Annoying Representative radio hosts. There is a very limited set of lines they seem to just use over and over. Sometimes the same line back to back, "or so my wife tells me" was annoying after the first 20 times, now I don't even want to play.
The tweets on the side bar don't make any sense. My city is complaining about smog and noise when its made entirely out of pedestrian walk ways and virtually no roads and no industrial. Just seems like a mess compared to previous versions.
I also feel Steam needs a rating between "Yes" and "no". This isn't a no, but I don't feel it is a yes either. Its a "not yet".

If you REALLY like ARK, this is the exact same game, all the bugs and problems, but now in Unreal 5!
Seriously though, that's it. It has so many bugs from the last game, you should be insulted as a player. WildCard and their dev team has had years to figure this out. I'm sure they are enjoying their profits, but they have never been focused on delivering a quality product, and this is just another example.
That all said, no one else has managed to make Minecraft for adults like ARK did. This is sadly one of the best survival games. I wish it were not true, but alas.
If you LOVE ARK, and can't wait to punch some trees and get eaten by a raptor, then this is your game. For everyone else, just get ARK Survival Evolved and enjoy the game with all the corrections the MOD community has provided that somehow a professional game developer can't wrap their heads around.

Its good, but hardly a "masterpiece". It's a Bethesda game, so it plays out a lot like Fallout and Skyrim. I don't think that's news to anyone. The space aspect is new, building ships is fun, however all feels a little.. I don't know how to explain it. It's missing things. I hope the modding community adds as much to this game as they did to Skyrim. I find it kinda sad we need the mod community to step this up.
I've admittedly spent well over 100 hours playing this game, and I enjoyed that time. If you like Bethesda games from the past, and enjoy the idea of exploring space, you will enjoy this game. I don't think it's as epic as everyone was hoping for, but I also think the expectations were too high. We all want what Star Citizen promised. This isn't it. This is Skyrim in space.
Oh, and the bugs. There are sooo many that just suck. Wait for the patch to play the game that was intended I guess... Outposts are so hard to make function.

3/5 Thumbs
Good fun ARCADE style racing game. Tires have button on them and the brakes don't work like a real car, but the concept is just fun.
HUGE warning/Completely unacceptable is the unstoppable ads in the game. The zones in the game that are DLC only include an obnoxious and unskippable video. Even if you accidentally click the wrong button in a menu, it will play the same video again, not letting you actually get back to the game. This is BS Microsoft. BS call. Its terrible and you should feel terrible about it.
Not really surprised, corporate greed and all that. Just be aware its BS and for that: 3/5 game.

This feels a lot like Banished, except the devs didn't like how Tools are managed in Banished. Very similar play style.
