Anyone who said this was GOTY is an asshat. Have you ever played GoW before? Inconsistent control reactions make this game a 6/10 at best. The graphics are great, but combat is a joke. Heavy up-swing should toss a mob into the air 100% of the time. about 30-60% of the time the mob just keeps coming at you like you hit him with a wiffle bat. WTF? Kratos whole thing is impactful combat. I should be SLAMMING these level 1 garbage mobs into the wall. It's so very frustrating to me that so many people praised this garbage. I'm pretty sure people are just rating games they didn't play. Gow3 was so much better than this.

I do not understand how this game is F2P. This game should be $60-$70 and maybe include a sub... If you like Diablo type games and or MMOs, this one is worth a go. Combat is fun, and you will Press "G' more times that you ever have in your life.

No matchmaking ladder makes this game incredibly frustrating. I'm low level, and I should only be paired with other low level people. Playing against level 40+ vets with huge Win ratios is obviously BS.
This will be fun if/once they fix that.

4 Player squad PVP or 3x4 (12) player battleground. Its fun, but limited.
I would like to see many more maps, like 10x as many.

It will be much more fun when people understand the objectives. Capture the skull is pretty hard when most of your team thinks its a deathmatch... don't be dumb, Participate in the objective, stick together, winout.

Good ole SNES games.
Plays great. Much better than the phone versions.

Only complaint is with ultra wide monitor. Not sure why they would put yellow bars on the outsides of the screen like that... They should be black if anything.

Good Story, funny banter, but very linear.
I would say about half the "game-play" is finding things. If you like searching the environments, you can add a few hours to the game, but there isn't much to explore TBH.
I am having fun, but would I recommend you spend $80 on this? Only if you really want to see this new Guardians Movie play out on your own.
Without substantially more content, I would recommend the majority of people watch this on streamed or wait for a sale.
Collectibles are a thing. So thank you for that Square. You can find Skins in the game! Wow!

Graphics 8/10 - Still a lot of issues here. Little disappointing. Try turning around real fast after leaving the ship. The environment has gaps and issues that just don't make sense for a finished game. The stuff that is finished, looks spectacular.
Audio 10/10 - As expected. Huge focus on the music and themes. Great work
Story 10/10 (so far. Only half way there, but i'm excited to see where this goes)

BIG FLAWS: Combat is unsatisfying. I enjoy torturing myself on hard modes. I'm playing this on hard, and having no issues at all. Hardest part is the learning curve with the controls. I play with a PS4 controller.
a) add PS controls and a drop down. Come on.. seriously.. wtf. Not everyone is using an XBOX controller. Why is this still an issue on AAA titles in 2021?
b) the trigger functions are disorientating. Lock on for AutoShot. Element shot doesn't function the same? wtf why not?
c) Invisible walls. Can't believe I have to keep complaining about this in 2021. Put a pile of boxes in the way or close the fraken door!
d) Mobs spawning from nowhere. Stop this too. Just stop. Mobs should always come out out a door or hole or something. Mobs that spawn in the middle of an open room are simply unacceptable.

Final words:
If you like comics and the ever changing worlds they create, this is a fun and entertaining for certain. I fully plan to play this through at least twice to try and get different results from my choices. It feels however like the devs focused so much on the story, they forget that it's a game too. You are basically playing a well orchestrated movie.
Also worth pointing out to those who want to know: This is NOT part of the MCU, and if you are expecting this to be in the same universe, you will be disappointed. This is a new story, with different events, just the characters inspired by the MCU version of Guardians.

Honestly super disappointed in this game. I can't believe this day in game we still have infinitely spawning mobs that appear out of nowhere and invisible walls. Makes any game impossible to feel engaged in. It's just endless spam. Bosses so far are just bullet sponges with infinitely spawning ads that appear out of nowhere. This is garbage programming. The game looks great, but it's sad these devs only focus on half the battle. They even have shields and black doorways (which aren't great, but are better than spawn from air). How is this crap so popular? These issues easy to fix, they even have the solutions in the game! ugg... This game is at best, a 5/10. Cool beta. Needs work, yet its years old, and one of the most popular games. Can't tell if this means the game industry has just given up, or if people enjoy playing garbage... I'm at a loss..
Additionally: The transition between zones/areas is horrible. You pick transfer points on a map, but when you "land" you are just in the middle of an open room... wtf. No transfer station, landing pad? Just feels really half-assed. Yes you can shoot stuff, yes you get gear. You will use that gear to shoot more stuff, but thats it. Go play Anthem. That game was WAY better than this, yet no one gave it a chance.. wtf is wrong with people...
Also seems to be quite a bit of.. confusion? This game is NOT open world, at all. Not sure why its on lists as being an Open World game. You go to menus and select instanced locations that are not connected in any way. Examples of Open World games include Zelda BoTW, GTA, and Cyberpunk. This is a Menu based universe... again.. wtf is wrong with people?

Killing stuff, exploding bodies. So much violence.

I really liked the direction Square was going with combat here. This was one of the best FFs imo.
