With how difficult this was to get going, several re-buys and hours of wasting time through various support channels, i can't really recommend getting this any time that it isn't on sale. For some odd reason, steam hasn't updated this to give you a CD key in order to properly function with Ubisoft Connect, which was formerly known and ran as UPLAY, so my advice is to simply disable your ethernet /and/ your wifi to get this working. Turn it back on once you can properly connect.

Beyond that, the game is definitely got some cool pros but downright annoying cons:

-Pros-

The setting is actually really unique and something we haven't seen since 28 days later. For spoilers sake, I'll chalk it up to a really cool take on the zombie genre and let you experience it.

The graphics, though dated, are actually really fitting for a game in the zombie genre while fairly neat with what i'd assume to be limited hardware, budget, the graphical fidelity is defintely a mixed bag at the end of the day

-Cons-

The story does feel slightly rushed in some sense, giving a feeling that Zombi was either given an unforgiving deadline or was simply written by amatuers, despite what good story beats were there.

The game suffers from having /far/ too many weapons and not letting you shelve your default melee and pistol, thus making a cramped inventory already even more so as a result.

The throwables felt pretty hit or miss but the flare was actually really useful in some desperate fights i'd have in the game's later scenarios.

The difficulty spikes as a result of explosive zombies getting right up on you sometimes and merely exploding with a shove sometimes, resulting in an instant kill alongside a survivor run being killed as well.

All in all?

It's honestly a solid 6/10, I have and still will enjoy all the hiccups while achievement hunting here. I long for a sequel where the game could receive significant polish, more options for combat, a longer and more interesting story in this environment while still managing to give general creepiness and a style in it's various levels that really does lack in most horror games in 2022, especially in the Zombie genre.

Buy on a good sale, this game is definitely worth 5-10 bucks. Anything beyond and you're really pushing yourself to validate your purchase.
