Can you please add:

5.56x45mm NATO, M249 (light machine gun) [en.wikipedia.org] or something that fills the role.

If theres still decent intrest, ill do some basic gameplay tests to see if this works with 0.18/1.0. Cant do compatibility checks cause aint nobody got time for that shizz

what niches do these guns fill? The SKS and FN FAL are both interchangable in direct usage; High damage mid-long range single shot rifles.

AK is just a shittier, shorter range, possibly higher damage AR, SVD is just a sniper rifle. Tac-50 has the being 50 bmg thing going on. Then there's three different MG's and two different already currently out of date anti tank rocket launchers

@Lumpy I'm guessing the arrow and spear wielding tribesmen faction doesn't even register as out of place? Seriously though, love the mod.. and besides I have to imagine that contemporary weapons kill just as well as in the future, some things never get completely replaced or so my marble countertops told me.. they also said all of these guns are basically out of style with the orginal nations that devolped them! Yay old things. Hold on my countertops wanna talk about how they were in style before the Minoans learned to read.

I agree with lumpy, I would love an option to convert the names of the guns to more generic ones.

While I appreciate the excellent Combat Extended mod and can't imagine ever playing Rimworld without it, I really don't understand the urge of so many modders to add contemporary weapons to the game. Rimworld is set in the far future, and humanity spans hundreds, if not thousands of worlds. Weapons such as the SKS aren't produced anymore nowadays, and for all intends and purposes, they would be literally ancient in the game's timeframe. Finding present day weaponry on the edges of known human space just completely kills my immersion.

Could I suggest that if your going to update that you make the weapons fit more seamlessly into the game by giving them generic names? Its weird seeing an M72 LAW next to just 'assault rifle'.

It would also be cool to see some more futuristic weapons like more advanced iterations on the charge rifle (charge assault rifle, charge battle rifle, charge machine gun, charge sniper etc, etc,)

Strangely enough, both the Taurus Judge and the P7 are not usable with shields, including the Ballistic Shield included in this mod. Only the basic 1911 works.

The sounds of production of some guns and ammo seem mixed up. While the arrows are done with the machining table sound (on the smithing bench) the M240B is done with smithing sounds on the Machining Table. Otherwise I just love this mod even if it forced me to turn off alien races again
