Is this ever going to get updated again?
James Fire 27 Sep, 2018 @ 5:03pm
Anyone know if there is a mod that adds ramp blocks for this mod?
Auynonymous 27 Aug, 2017 @ 12:17pm
add camo plz
bigbadvoodoodady_1 10 Aug, 2017 @ 8:39pm
I rarely give kudos/praise... but I wanted to let you know, your concrete textures are AWESOME! I love this mod for that reason alone! Really cool stuff please do not change the look of your concrete!
Fatsack 1 Jul, 2017 @ 2:17pm
Update this

pls. pls update:steamhappy: my half ships are invinsable
Lock&Load98 30 Jan, 2017 @ 4:05pm
Sweet. Thanks for taking the time to do so.
Drayst  [author] 30 Jan, 2017 @ 2:22pm
Yeah, I start soon to work on my mods again.
Lock&Load98 30 Jan, 2017 @ 12:00pm
Concrete is still invisable, any chance of a fix?
Greyson XMG 22 Jan, 2017 @ 1:05pm
Yeah, this mod could use just a bit o luv.
Seather 19 Jan, 2017 @ 12:57am
Can you put these in their appropriate combo items like the new vanilla blocks?
Greyson XMG 16 Jan, 2017 @ 10:54pm
GLITCH! Many of the concrete blocks show as invisable. not the big slabs, but rather the single blocks.

have you considered 5X5 light and heavy armor blocks?
the_boffin 2 Jan, 2017 @ 3:23pm
i think changing the recipes will do the trick.
the_boffin 2 Jan, 2017 @ 3:22pm
sorry i didn't see the reply. i'm actually working on modular ship but the connector are very fragile. i'm mainly wanting a block wich doesn't connect to other on one side. what i did for normal armor is i used a mod wich gave extra angled blast doors and hide the connector behind.

Drayst  [author] 30 Oct, 2016 @ 2:39am
Well, I am not able to make new blocks, but I could reuse vanilla blocks and change their components (and therefor their strength).

What kind of blast door do you have in mind? The normal vanilla door?
the_boffin 29 Oct, 2016 @ 12:12pm
hello is their a possibility to get blast door made with crystalline plates ?
jasonwright4838 19 Sep, 2016 @ 2:02pm
I use Graphene armor by Bean on workshop. It is good armor and makes a use for stone. I was wondering if the High tech armor provides better protection as I am shifing into building war ships. http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=332768931
Drayst  [author] 19 Sep, 2016 @ 1:22pm
What graphene?
jasonwright4838 19 Sep, 2016 @ 12:43pm
How does the High tech and reinforced high tech stack up against graphene for structure and weight?
Drayst  [author] 13 Jul, 2016 @ 6:03am
I am not sure, if I can follow you.

The weight and structure of a block is defined by its ingredients.

I added two new components: concrete slab and crystalline plate.

The first is really heavy, but has a lot of structure.
The crystalline plate has the best structure/weight ration.

So the concrete blocks are quite cheap and good for base building, but not good for ships.
The hightech armor blocks are quite expensive, but give you the best armor per weight.

... weigh that much kilogramms?
.. / ... ..- -.-. -.- .-.-.- 13 Jul, 2016 @ 5:06am
I know but what it does mean for space engineers it means that the things needed for building the specific block
Drayst  [author] 12 Jul, 2016 @ 11:13am
Kilogramm. Metric unit for weight.
.. / ... ..- -.-. -.- .-.-.- 12 Jul, 2016 @ 9:09am
what kg mean?
Drayst  [author] 3 Jul, 2016 @ 2:18pm
I will take a look at it, but I can't promise anything.
masterzh7 3 Jul, 2016 @ 7:00am
Hello there. Could i request "cable management 1" block from original mod?
Drayst  [author] 14 May, 2016 @ 1:41pm
Happy to hear, that you like this mod, guys.

Thanks to aerosabe, how made a new concrete mod with plates, I was able to add them here as well. So now we have 1x1x5, 1x5x5 and 1x3x3 blocks with full constructionmodels. Enjoy!

time to build a castle! :D
then add thrusters and make it a flying castle!
picomark4 12 May, 2016 @ 2:33pm
This is one of my favorite mods for planet side construction. The concrete blocks alone are worth the mod! And the armors are a nice addition too.
Fatsack 13 Mar, 2016 @ 7:26pm
you should take the stone requirement for concrete blocks out, and change it to ice, but less. You need water to mix concrete after all.
Greyson XMG 17 Dec, 2015 @ 5:58pm
Let me express my gratitude.

AND let me also express that I am in NO HURRY to see them... I merely am happy that somebody is working on them.

:)
Drayst  [author] 17 Dec, 2015 @ 5:41pm
So pushed an update which balances the deformation ratio of all blocks.

No news on the big blocks. But I am still on it.
Greyson XMG 15 Dec, 2015 @ 3:33pm
Good idea.. It should be durable, but not THAT dourable...

And Concrete should be heavier than all of them. People should not be trying to make starships out of it.

Big blocks comming along?
Drayst  [author] 15 Dec, 2015 @ 3:09pm
I did some testing and it looks like concrete is really a little bit odd. It is nearlly more durable than the reinforced hightech armor. I will have a chat with the mod author and investigate a bit further and try to get it inline with the other armor.
Greyson XMG 15 Dec, 2015 @ 1:26pm
One would assume that if your going to use modded armor, that you would also use modded weapons.
Drayst  [author] 15 Dec, 2015 @ 4:08am
Nah, as I said: it is not about modded weapons. Vanilla player made weapons are already really strong!

Look at ore shotguns or orbital bombardment stations or guided missiles. These are all vanilla build and will tear apart any station or big ship way faster than the weak vanilla weapons can and from far away. You do not even need to get in range of vanilla weapons and they are too weak to shoot down the projectiles. So the only defense is to dig into the ground/asteroid or better armor.

Given, building these weapons is quite an effort but so is to build a full layer of protection.

I appreciate your criticism, but some suggestions for improving would be even better.
Anyway I will do some testing myself and think again about it.
Drakedge 15 Dec, 2015 @ 3:49am
Well, you have your opinion, and thus a mod for it, and I have mine really. For us, this mod would render all vanilla weapons obsolete. I don't find that acceptable. I am glad you enjoy the modded weapons and so forth.

I took a look at these blocks to see if they would balance out having some modded weapons, but not to the point of making all other weaponry useless. That's my ~personal opinion~ and that's all it is.
Drayst  [author] 15 Dec, 2015 @ 3:44am
To be honest the vanilla weapons are weak and boring. Take a look at player made, guided missiles. These are vanilla to, but far far superior to the vanilla weapons, killing big ships from several kilometers away easily
The vanilla large armor blocks have a armor/weight ratio of 5.
In comparison:
Super light: 8.8 (but gives less armor than light armor)
Concrete: 2
Hightech: 5.5
Reinforced Hightech: 6

The toughness of concrete is based on 0 deformation. That way missiles and other projectiles do less damage. That is the idea of it. Protection for your base.
Anyway I tried to balance further with components requirements. The hightech blocks cost a ton of material to make. Imagine building a whole station or large ship with these blocks.
In the end it is just vanilla block stacking/layering vs using better armor.
Greyson XMG 15 Dec, 2015 @ 2:22am
Keep in mind that the advanced armor is HEAVY, and a ship made entirely from such blocks would be immobile.

So they are NOT overpowered. There just needs to be trade offs. I have made a few ships using this, and instead of a slow ship make of advanced, I just made a frew protrusions with decoys surrounded by the advanced. They took the hits and most of my ship was unscathed.

Drakedge 15 Dec, 2015 @ 2:14am
I ran som tests on these blocks. They are way way way too overpowered for vanilla weapons. Station based missile turret vs concrete block 1 thick = 65 missiles before I gave up shooting at it.

Advanced armor same as above.

Super light armor took more hits than regular light armor to break through.

Just too OP to be of use for us at least.
Greyson XMG 11 Dec, 2015 @ 1:04pm
Stone and gravel? :) I like it.

And thanks for persueing the 5X1 and 5X5 blocks. It will make it easier on EVERYBODYS cpu, and allow us to make a processor light parking lot for our ships.
Drayst  [author] 11 Dec, 2015 @ 5:33am
@Greyson XMG: I missunderstood your request for replacing stone with gravel. I thought that it already was that way. I will change that in the next update, too.
Now I think about using both, gravel and stone. What's you opinion on that?
Drayst  [author] 11 Dec, 2015 @ 4:45am
I looked into it and it is easy to make the final blocks at various sizes, but the construction stage models have to be adjusted. As I am not the creator of the base mod, I do not have the source models to change them. Without the construction models it would really look weird (imagine the 1x5x5 block with only the middle block displayed and the rest invisibile).
But a similar request was raised for aerosabe mod and I am in contact with him regarding this.

Along with the new blocks I have some balancing in mind: the concrete slab componets volume will be reduced to a quarter and the small ship super light blocks will get a small adjustment in required components.
Greyson XMG 10 Dec, 2015 @ 6:41pm
:D Please comment here when you have made a decision.

SOME people (ahem) would really look forward to the new blocks.
Greyson XMG 9 Dec, 2015 @ 4:46pm
Fair enough. :)
Drayst  [author] 9 Dec, 2015 @ 4:45pm
I will look into the bigger blocks. Maybe better doing 5x5x1 and 5x1x1 as it is still pretty big , but more flexible to use.
For the stone in the slabs: that would take away one step in the processing and I like it the way it is. Use some mod that processes the stone faster like stone crusher for example. That fits great with this mod.
Greyson XMG 9 Dec, 2015 @ 4:19pm
Perhaps replacing stone with gravel in the making of concrete slabs.
Greyson XMG 9 Dec, 2015 @ 12:49pm
SUGGESTION: Since having many blocks weighs heavy on the CPU/GPU, perhaps we could make things a little easier for the computer my adding 2 new blocks.

A 10X10X1 slab of concrete. (costing 100X normal)
and a 10X1X1 line of concrete (costing 10X normal)

Structure would also go up appropreately.

This would help us pave the grounds arround our bases without murdering our GPU.

Please?
