Endoskeleton_Jim he original mod author has left modding for a long time and oskar could not update it himself, that's why it has cumulated bug with time. oskar also realeased an updated version of the storytelmler recently and is planned to be playable for 1.5 and he will probably also patch it along the way. if you want to play with it then go to the new mod page.

@Endoskeleton Adapt. Overcome. You don't need to scrap your playthrough. It should stop eventually, or you can just move your pawns to a new map.

this mod has so many bugs. am i supposed to just scrap my playthrough on commitment mode because the orbital bombardment modifier is stuck and wave resetting with dev mode doesent work

the bullet proof modifier actually increases damage taken by 50%, so they take 150% damage from all sources

I think you can blacklist rewards in the settings the same way you can blacklist modifiers.

is there any way to make so Winston only rewards certian items like silver an stuff ? i want to just really on traders to get the resources i need to survive

Dev mode, reset wave.
I had a group of raiders kidnap a pawn and leave. The wave is stuck now, and I dunno what to do. Any ideas?

@iUseSporks it is normal as far as it is bugged, there are a lot of those modifiers and rewards that don't work correctly, at least you can disable the modifiers that give troubles.
@rush bee while i agree on most points, the 6th point is totally configurable and i advise to do so... honestly, the non VE wave survival that we had in 1.2 while not bein as polished offered a much better overall experience...i

Overall, the concept is fun and interesting. But there are game breaking bugs and design choices that are questionable.

5. The rewards for each raid is always the same randomization of a set of rewards. Legendary rewards like tons of components + plasteel are 10x more useful than normal drops of some medicine and food. It'd be nicer if you get to pick excellent+ rewards for dealing with bosses while poor - good rewards are for normal raids.
6. This is a preference opinion: the difficulty curve is not quite well configured. You can easily go from a very simple low-threat raid to a game-ending raid the next such as 10 tribal archers to 20 double health pirates on go-juice. The default delay between raids as 1.5 days is DEFINITELY not enough. It takes 1 day just to clean up from a raid and the raids are configured to increase in difficulty exponentially.

This mod has a lot of issues

1. There is a bug where orbital bombardment and meteor showers will last indefinitely, basically ending a play through
2. Trade caravans, guests, etc. won't leave even when the popup for them leaving appears at the top.
3. After 60 in-game days or so, all other events stop generating except for raids. No natural trade caravans or orbital traders. You'll have to pick them as a reward. Not even a zzzzt.
4. Rewards for completing raids are bugged. 50% of the time, if you choose the reward "delay the next raid", it will not work. Choosing to reduce the size of the next raid as a reward does not work at all.

need to be able to reset wave count, otherwise you will inevitably have to change the storyteller eventually, especially on lower tech runs.

waves are bugged for me rn i have a 8 man wave yet it still says 1 guy left to kill despite how no hostiles are on the map that arent killed or downed, I have been spawning in rewards and reseting the waves.

I think by this point Everyone should be putting their bug reports in the bug reports discussion. That might help the dev team to notice the bugs

i have the same issue as @karolkg suddenly winston started sending 24300 point raids (not the max?? but close) then i turned OFF the raid point cap and now he only sends 100 point raids

Incompatible with a setting from What the Hack... when the option of raids spawning with additional mechs is turned on the enemy counter breaks it tells you for example in wave 1 you have killed 0/1 but the remaining enemies is 1 human and 2 bots... but there is only the human and 1 bot on the map. if you kill the human and the 1 bot it doesnt finish the wave and you have to reset the wave with dev mode. Can be avoided by turning of the What the Hack raid settings

So I've had an issue when a group of raiders decide to leave, like kidnap or steal stuff the wave doesn't end. What do I do?

How does "max threat points use" works and what is default number? I changed something and now got raided by 4000 insects. Of course game froze. Then tried to change max points but still got huge raids (when I reset wave) form 700 to 3000.

Have an odd problems let me know if anyone else had this before. Using Winston waves and multiplayer. Works till around wave 20 at which it does not let us choose a reward it just closes the menu for it shortly after it pops up. we tried to changed it to random reward but we each get a different reward that way and it then thus gives us nothing.

Did you try switching storytellers? You can even switch back and use dev mode to skip back to the wave you were on.

Was playing with this mod just fine for a couple of days. Had logged back in, and the Winston display timer is just all messed up and squashed, no "waves" will come, the send early button doesn't work. Just really fucked up my play through. Even trying previous saves has fucked up my game.

strange wave balance. Around the first 35 waves 1 to 3 raiders with at most some simple guns or rifles spawned. Then suddenly from one day to the other there were 151 tribespeople attacking, then 80 northmen and so on. I could still handle it better than my framerate for the next few waves but wave 43 flies in 27 warcasket encased people with warcasket rifles and there is literally nothing that can stop them. I have barely crafted two weapons at my fabrication bench.

Yeah, obviously you shouldn't use a broken modifier.
It's a tiny piece of the mod that's broken, I don't blame the modders for spending their time on other projects.

that is not the point. the point is, it has been nearly 9 months since it was last updated and this entire time, people have been complaining that nothing has been done about it. additionally, what if people really like a certain broken modifier? should they just not do anything about it and not use it?

guys, just have a look at the settings. you can block modifiers like meteors or bombardment and also can adjust the time until the next wave countdown starts even if some of the raiders fled

I have an issue, whenever a raider leaves (like when I cant defend against them and they just take stuff) it doesn't count as them being removed. So the wave tracker is just stuck and then everything wave related just stops. no rewards, no more waves, nothing. just thought to let you know.

so when enemies leave the map they dont count as kill how tho fix them?
