i recently fought my 1st Chaos Lord (emp) :) i had to use 2 blunderbusses from the mooseian mod to try and guess where it was standing :)

I was just reading the lore about the Obsidia factions, and while is a bit "simple" I think it's pretty cool in general (and it gaves me another excuse to destroy the obsidia empire), an I was wondering about the two "secret" factions, I guess both factions, similar to the Horax cult and the random pirates around the orbit, are practically imposible to destroy completly? Because the don't have any bases anywhere in the map. And also, I could get more content about that factions using the anomaly dlc? since at least one of the factions seems to be related to the "Anomaly" stuff, even when it's disabled in my run

its just that tw g has the ability to change the cost by default, but apparently it reads the cost from the mod and remembers the cost of the study. The only way that I found was to launch the tw g mod and then install it already tw g

@crystal-hunter Thanks for the info! Since Obsidia Expansion doesn’t include any patches for Tweaks Galore, there’s nothing I can do on my side.
It’s best to reach out to the authors of that mod, they should be able to help.

hmm you gave me an idea - i might try and set up a walled turret or 2, around the place where chaos slimes seem to spawn from time to time, and see how many items drop over time :lunar2019piginablanket:

in the beginning i sell the slime heards , but i also go on quests often enough in the mid and late game so the hearts come in realy quickly when they are finally needed

@pgames-food Yeah, it’s kinda hard to say which resources are “must-keep” and which ones you can safely sell early on. But personally, I’d say Syntherius is the most valuable one in the long run. Later in the game, you’ll be able to use it to cover shortages of other Obsidia materials, like metals and such.
That said, there are quite a few ways to get more of it, from the slow but steady Syntherius Tree growing, to the weirder methods like EGO Tree growing as pen Syntherius Slime, Synthesis Dryads, or my favorite: install hi-tech Chaos Slime farms :GhostScary:

hi can i check if the items that drop from creatures (like the heart) and obsidian mineral, and synthesia yellow items, can also be bought from traders or crafted?

the mod is cool, im just going through the typical early game where surviving is hard on the maps im on, (in my very early game in v1.6 of rimworld, the only way to survive so far, has been to sell everything i can obtain, even cooked meals, just to be able to get the occasional bionic implant and some basic food to cook), but is it ok for me to sell these obsidia items, or should i be trying to grab as much of them as i can and saving them for later? :lunar2019piginablanket:

The research speed is very slow. Even with 7 researchers 3 of which are level 20 researching simultaneously researching.

@crystal-hunter Just double checked, everything works on my side. The research cost does change, both in new games and existing saves.
So the issue isn’t in this mod.

ah thanks for the info, i did some testing in dev mode using weaker weapons and psycast effects, and they did get downed and could be captured :)

Yes, just like other Anomaly Entities, you can contain them. The tricky part is that the chance to down them is pretty low, and if your weapons hit too hard, it’s very easy to… well… overdo it and kill them instead.

hi the chaos slimes are cool - (hard as they split into more, but cool) :)

one thing i saw, was that it mentions that they can be harvested for bioferrite, using anomaly detainment/confinement, but can i check how to do we get some bioferrite from them? (they all seem to get fully destroyed when attacked enough, and when they finally die, they dont seem to be "downed" for capture, and no dead body is there to butcher etc?

Another quick reminder and status update:
The next Obsidia Expansion update is planned for sometime between Tuesday and Thursday next week. During this update, all Backstories and Traits will be removed and moved to a new standalone mod: Obsidia Expansion - Paths and Stories.
To prevent issues with your existing saves, there are two options:
A) Subscribe to the new mod and place it below Obsidia Expansion in your load order :BL3Thinking:
B) Load a local copy of the current version before updating, if you prefer to keep things as they are :BL3Thumbsup:
Please note that I’ve given advance notice, so any issues with old saves after the update won’t be addressed.

@JimDandy The mod settings are there, you just need XML Extensions mod for them to show up.
Nice move using Cherry Picker mod, that’s actually a pretty creativity move! :BL3Thumbsup:
About the content creator thing, I’m not really after fame or likes. I make mods for fun, and if some people enjoy them too, that’s more than enough for me.

@Lored There are no mod options. I see why your mods aren't being used by popular content creators now. I went ahead and disabled the hive generation completely using cherry picker. I don't need a poorly executed borderlands idea rip-off on my map.

A quick heads-up: an update for Obsidia Expansion is coming next week.
All Backstories and Traits will be removed from this mod and released as a separate one: Obsidia Expansion - Paths and Stories.
To avoid any potential issues with existing saves, I recommend subscribing to the new mod and placing it below Obsidia Expansion in your load order.

The mod’s had a “Chaos Slimes Hives - Player Map Only” option for a while, it makes hives spawn only on your home maps.

Slime hives spawning on every map makes caravaning in an early game weak start playthrough basically impossible. There's no need to spawn a slime hive on every map, every time. Additionally, there's no mod options (that I could find) to lower their spawn chance. What a waste, I'll be removing it from the mod playlist for this reason.

@ඞThe ♥♥♥ Cultistඞ Eating a Syntherius tree restores 2 out of 4 nutrition for a thrumbo, same as most trees in vanilla game.
If it doesn’t work like that for you, then the problem is coming from other mod(s) :BL3Shrug:
