Hey, this looks cool. Are you cool with me retrofitting it with a crafting setup + Sky Anchor?
ManicKingDragon 5 Sep, 2021 @ 4:51am
Honestly downloaded this as I was having issues with making an elevator for my own carrier.
It's incredible how long it took you to make this beast. I am quite intimidated tbh.
Good luck for your current project!
Ninjaslicer 7 Feb, 2021 @ 9:36am
I don't doubt it, I'd love to use stuff like that without risk of... you know busting the entire build by using a very common game feature.
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 6 Feb, 2021 @ 8:18pm
Yeah I hope so too, that elevator was a royal pain in the ass lol
Ninjaslicer 6 Feb, 2021 @ 7:35pm
Personal preference I guess. Good luck with your other projects. (Also I hope they eventually add movement type blocks so we can make door and elevators easier).

I made the turrets because there's a glitch where the recoil from firing guns caused the tech to teleport. It also allows the Rokenshield to engage multiple target at once, and provides some decoy protection against techs since they're more likely to target the turrets first. I also was sick of firing all the missiles when I used the anti-tree stuff.
I actually am making a new version of the carrier, though it's a hover-carrier and not a ground-based carrier. It will have more battery, more hangar space, and will be less laggy.
Ninjaslicer 6 Feb, 2021 @ 5:44pm
Is there going to be an updated version of this with some of the new blocks? Also I personally don't see the need for the turrets since... I could just fire myself and not have to worry about losing my weapons by simply pressing B so... is there a less "risky" version in the makes? If not I can probably mess with it myself and remove the (in my opinion) unnecessarily risky AI.

this...
this is all i wanted in life. thank you.
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 4 Mar, 2019 @ 9:29pm
this was built before the sky anchor. LOOOOOOOOONG before. also normal anchoring helps get rid of lag, and the anchors are so low to the ground that it doesnt break. its just hard to anchor.
Tankium 4 Mar, 2019 @ 5:56pm
If anchoring this tech normally would break it then just use the better future sky anchor just an idea

This thing looks derpy as hell, but I'll say that I've been trying to make a venture carrier work for god knows how long. Brings a tear to my eye to see that some one actually made a working land carrier. Congrats mate.
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 23 Feb, 2019 @ 9:40am
lol in the final days of her construction I had to use a cab inside the hangar or on top of the deck while she was anchored to build, because she is so big that using build beam lags too much.
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 23 Feb, 2019 @ 9:39am
she'll do that to you if your computer isn't powerful enough
wendymich 23 Feb, 2019 @ 2:26am
I spawn it and my game froze
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 25 Jan, 2019 @ 8:05am
oh maybe yeah...
You'd need quite a bit to make a difference though, and those things aren't exactly cheap. And a little bit of lean is good for going up hills. I mean, the Rokenshield didn't fall over when I was moving her through mountains and such (yes the red ones), I think that if you don't try anything dumb she'll be alright as-is. Just go up slopes perpendicularly and be careful not to fall off.
SonicMag 25 Jan, 2019 @ 5:34am
it could work better up hill with the 1x1x2 gyro, that one thats good for motorcycles. should work pretty well
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 24 Jan, 2019 @ 4:42pm
maybe, although that tends to hinder going up hills more than it works to keep you from falling over
SonicMag 23 Jan, 2019 @ 11:04pm
could work to put a lot of the strongest gyros inside, maybe it could work well too
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 23 Jan, 2019 @ 3:31pm
I honestly never had problems with it rolling over when I was testing it, even when I was on really steep inclines and I was like "Oh nonono it's gonna fall over" it somehow didn't. So I figured the wheel span was good as is, but apparently not?
Another issue with that tho is that a wider wheel span makes them more susceptible to terrain damage, I'd have to widen the anti-tree defences to make sure the trees won't have their revenge.
Jim (real) (fake) 23 Jan, 2019 @ 2:27pm
so can every other helicopter or plane.
SandTag 23 Jan, 2019 @ 12:34pm
the ravens are mainly to keep things away from the main machine, i still havnt found a veichle which takes a hit and can still be functional (and keep in mind, it can fire from 5,000 ft in the air)
SonicMag 22 Jan, 2019 @ 11:17pm
this awsome "lump of junk" is allways lagging my computer, still love it! and it would be harder to fall over with wider wheels and can be easly made by anyone, just need a nice armored block :)
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 22 Jan, 2019 @ 3:14pm
by celestia, you do mean that raven interceptor plane right?
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 22 Jan, 2019 @ 3:14pm
yeah no mate.
The ACI (aerial combat interceptor) is a speedy little plane that has enough ven repair bubbles to take Venture avalanche missiles and be totally fine. It's wayy more maneuverable than any cruise missile can ever hit and has 2 avalnches on itself that'll drain your shields good. And the rokenshield can carry 11 of them. The celestia would have it's targeting computer overwhelmed, the missiles would be constantly swapping targets as the nimble little planes swooped about it. You might get lucky and hit one or two, but this whole time you're getting slammed by 22 avalanche missile launchers. By the time you get your third kill (if you did) then your shields would be gone, and your missiles will explode along with your plane.
On the top deck it can carry 2 GAPs that have 10 cruise missiles each. If the captain of the carrier felt bored he might deploy them as well to hurry the progress along.
SandTag 22 Jan, 2019 @ 2:54pm
looking at all the planes on the carrier, celestias guard units would 1v8 them and take no damage XD
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 22 Jan, 2019 @ 2:42pm
This "lump of junk" won't need to worry about geting one shot by anything because it can scramble enough fighters to take on pretty much anything.
Also, if it does get one-shot I made it cheap enough to easily replace it.
SandTag 22 Jan, 2019 @ 11:12am
i love how the sarcastic commentary is completley innacurate, this lump of junk would get one shot by celestia like litterally everything else.
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 21 Jan, 2019 @ 8:01am
@SonicMag
That's why I included a warning not to do that in the warnings section in the description
SonicMag 21 Jan, 2019 @ 3:29am
its just lagging my game but i love it! but if you some how fall over after pressing x you just cant press b to get up, evrything will just fall off. and it really lags pressing b!
Redluke 20 Jan, 2019 @ 12:21pm
ok just adding some venture base stuff...
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 20 Jan, 2019 @ 8:42am
lol welcome to the world of terratech engineering
Nickiel 19 Jan, 2019 @ 7:53pm
i wish they had key-bind controlls akin to scrap mechanic so all of this wasn't so, work-around-y
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 19 Jan, 2019 @ 4:48pm
wait what?
the miner has it's own little bay that it sits in with walls on all sides. It doesn't really need to be reattached.
Thunderstrike1097 19 Jan, 2019 @ 11:19am
2 things:

1: What would make this build much easier, which isn't your fault, is retachable grids.
2: How would you retach the miner that goes on the front under everything else?
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 18 Jan, 2019 @ 5:52pm
I like to think that eventually TerraTech will have a need for power projection- that's the primary role the rokenshield serves. But until then it'll only really be a fun toy for the kingdom RP or a nice piece for a machinema.
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 18 Jan, 2019 @ 5:48pm
@gordierowthorn:
See there's this thing on the terratech forums called the kingdoms RP where we roleplay fighting our nations together. If you're in the RP that's where this fleet carrier will start to look less cool and more like a deadly weapon you can't effectively defend against.
TangyTango 18 Jan, 2019 @ 5:37pm
My mind is blown!

Nice Build dude
Mindlessmrawesome  [author] 17 Jan, 2019 @ 8:19pm
Oh yeah I just noticed this is like straight outta homeworld
Moogek 16 Jan, 2019 @ 6:20pm
Woah, homeworld
Gordierowthorn 15 Jan, 2019 @ 4:04pm
good thing this is a game where we need a large amount of small planes and we dont have another demention to store them...

still a great craft
Marsh Man 15 Jan, 2019 @ 11:24am
Just wish it was less laggy, thats more the games fault... Cool creation
Marsh Man 15 Jan, 2019 @ 11:14am
It doesn't use DLC, bless.
Filip.M.T 14 Jan, 2019 @ 8:06am
and thats not a bad thing
Filip.M.T 14 Jan, 2019 @ 8:04am
untill payload studios adds water this will be the closest thing we get to an actuall air-craft carrier
JimmyBlether 13 Jan, 2019 @ 5:42am
I'm impressed mindless.
Rusted Iron™ 13 Jan, 2019 @ 3:02am
this is a nice build but why not just build a giant plane with rockets sooooooooooo.....
Hellzbellz1234 10 Jan, 2019 @ 7:12am
the linear motion engine would be helpful would it not?
