ุTruble 25 Jan, 2022 @ 3:57pm
is there a way to make the seed thing smaller?
ZY 16 May, 2019 @ 8:14pm
i think it is a dead mod, but this idea is cool, hope modding can have an update

@Akashar i am having trouble seeing this class as a preset class, is there any fix to this?
Psych 30 Oct, 2018 @ 10:18pm
is this suppose 2 be played wth undead?
Ninvus Oogoar 25 Oct, 2018 @ 7:46pm
this class mod is pretty op tbh, even playing it with enemy scaling of +5 levels higher than me and playing on tactician mode while playing lone wolf solo... im crushing everything with little to no effort. just using this mod alone
Wohzu 11 Oct, 2018 @ 2:48pm
Can undead play this yet?
BAQUA 8 Oct, 2018 @ 8:17am
Would love to use this mod as an undead, but it's too op cause it doesn't take vitality damage from the skills. Any chance of a fix?
Uphio 28 Sep, 2018 @ 2:04pm
Great mod and interesting skills, but the Seed Guardian is hilariously oversized; it's almost cartoonish. Perhaps make two versions of the summon: the silly giant inflatable seed guardian that currently exists, and a smaller, more reasonable size. Perhaps give them different roles: the smaller one could be squishier, faster, etc. I enjoy the mod but.. yeah. The size is very over-the-top.

@LangZ: I was going to finish the Novice tier last/this week, but work has kicked up a storm. So... soon-ish? :)

Thanks for your enthusiasm! :))
LangZ 24 Sep, 2018 @ 11:07am
Do you know when the Novice tier update is coming? :)
Wohzu 19 Sep, 2018 @ 2:45pm
@Akashar lol that'd be funny if thats rlly why, lol but its too OP :(
fane is healed from poison, maybe it has something to do with that? or maybe make it do peircing damage = 50%hp (not sure what dmg it currently uses, tooltip reads "Sacrifice's 50% hp")
Akashar  [author] 19 Sep, 2018 @ 2:46am
@Smoothz: That's a very odd bug indeed! I'll test it this weekend and see how to fix it. Nice catch!

I wonder if it is because the undead don't have hearts that can bleed, and must instead sacrfice heart shaped holes from their armour? :P

@BloodborneJudas: Cool! Let me think about it.
Wohzu 18 Sep, 2018 @ 4:52pm
After paying closer attention and getting better gear, it doesnt even take 50% of my armor it only takes 1 point away no matter the skill i cast(from this mod)
Wohzu 18 Sep, 2018 @ 4:42pm
I think playing as Fane makes it sacrifice armour instead of HP? idk if thats true but thats the only difference between my 2 playthoughs with this mod first time playing as Beast now as fane but instead of working as intended like on Best, Fane only sacrificed armor instead of HP
Blood & Bourbon 17 Sep, 2018 @ 11:13am
In keeping with theme, i would absolutely love to have little meat (fertilizer) shield summons to keep waldo from being lonely. Remember the a.i controlled bone crawler from necromancy 2.0 classic? Also, a corpse consumpition to restore health would be nice
Akashar  [author] 17 Sep, 2018 @ 10:45am
@BloodborneJudas + Sandling: Those are good points!

A few thoughts:

1) The Seed Guardian only explodes when it has Verdant Rebirth on it (ie if you've used the Seedborn skill).

2) Try exploding or otherwise killing (Cannibalise from Summoning?) it before combat ends.

I'll do some testing to see how I can prevent it exploding when combat ends, but I'm not sure if it's possible.

That said, it does make sense lore-wise, right? You're playing with some dangerous magic, and hoping it doesn't explode in your face hehehehe.

Jokes aside, if you guys have any suggestions on how to fix this, please holler in my direction.
Blood & Bourbon 17 Sep, 2018 @ 10:28am
Really loving the concept of this class as well. Definitely too dangerous to have around with living allies
Sandling 16 Sep, 2018 @ 3:06pm
Hello there! - I've been trying out your mod, and while I thought the concept was pretty neat, the biggest issue for me was how cruel the summon explodes post-combat. Half the time when the fight was over, I had to go in panic mode and try and get the pet away, but quite often it would explode and kill teammates before even being able to move it away.

I'm hoping this could be looked into, don't think it would hurt any balance if the pet becomes a bit easier to use.. outside of battle : P
Akashar  [author] 15 Sep, 2018 @ 11:47pm
@Shiki: Me too buddy! Really excited about the new set. In the meantime, give this class a spin, and tell me all about it :D
Shiki 15 Sep, 2018 @ 3:02pm
Golgari has to be my favourite guild (so looking forward to playing it in MTG soon, but for now my MB Zombies and "golgari" Sarolings shall suffice...), and this looks amazing so far.
Akashar  [author] 15 Sep, 2018 @ 11:23am
@CPT Gadget: Ask and ye shall receive, sir! Starter pre-set coming up next week. :) By the way, you can always edit the skills of one of the other pre-sets in character creation, and choose Verdant Necromancer skills.

Any other feedback, please holler in my direction. We'll make this better together :)
Shimmer263 15 Sep, 2018 @ 11:09am
Thank you for sharing your work. It sounds like a promising class. However, it would be great to have it as a starter preset. Most of the others high quality class mod provides it, and I would say it makes trying out a class much better. As of now, considering how expensive the books are and since there is no preset, you do not "create" a Verdant Mage, you become one once you can afford the books and re-spec your character.
I know it's a WIP, so I'm looking forward to see how you will update your mod.
Akashar  [author] 14 Sep, 2018 @ 2:10am
@Whiskeyjoel: Novice Tier coming up next week. :)

@ThinePunisher: Great to hear you guys are enjoying the mod! :D

I love how over the top the visuals of Verdant Plague are though. Indulge me on that one? :P
ThinePunisher 13 Sep, 2018 @ 11:24pm
Me and my guys im playing with really like your mod. its super cool i like the size reduction on the tree feels less clunky. the only other thing i've noticed is that the bounching poision attack is kinda crazy with the visuals and its not a super big deal. just thought i would mention is since its like super bright and takes up the whole screen and its super bright.
Whiskeyjoel 13 Sep, 2018 @ 11:17pm
Hey Akashar, just out of curiousity, what's the timeline for the rest of the skills?
Akashar  [author] 13 Sep, 2018 @ 9:25pm
Hey, quick question: Was the lack of a starter preset a problem for anyone? :)
Akashar  [author] 13 Sep, 2018 @ 8:41pm
@Lyrinix: Awesome! What caught your eye about the Verdant Necromancer? What are you most excited tot ry? :)
Lyrinix 13 Sep, 2018 @ 6:38pm
This sounds extremely interesting! Look forward to the completion of this so I might try it!
Akashar  [author] 12 Sep, 2018 @ 3:04pm
@Whiskeyjoel: Could you send me a screenshot so I can see the issue? That might help me calculate a better radius.

I assume you already tried to Burrow over or use Vine Whip to teleport them to you? But the explosion gets locked inside the tight space? Help me visualise it please :)
Whiskeyjoel 12 Sep, 2018 @ 3:01pm
Hey Akashar, another thing I noticed is that, for how big the Seed Guardian itself is, it's self-explosion is quite small. It hasn't been a huge deal, but sometimes in tight spaces, the SG is unable to move close enough to mobs to detonate. Just to reiterate, these are minor issues and overall I am enjoying the mod.
Akashar  [author] 12 Sep, 2018 @ 1:11pm
@Megas Archon: Nice catch re the skill books! Will fix it with the next update. :)

@Megas Achon + Whiskeyjoel: So 3 in favour, 1 against. :D

I hear you. I hear you.

I've always used its size to block pathways, creating choke points and forcing the enemy to waste action points walking around it. But I can see how it might be a bit TOO big. I'll look into a size reduction if a couple more people voice their preference in that direction. :)

Thanks again for the feedback!
Whiskeyjoel 12 Sep, 2018 @ 12:27pm
I like the size of the Seed Guardian. I mean, it's a tree, it should be big. But that being said, I have fought a few battles where my guardian spawned in such a way that it was basically on top of an enemy, and prevented targetting. So, maybe a slight size reduction could help.
Megas Archon 12 Sep, 2018 @ 11:28am
I echo the size of the Seed Guardian could be reduced to help with positioning and gameplay. There also seems to be an issue with the display names of the skill tomes. Thanks for the mod, I'm enjoying it.
Akashar  [author] 12 Sep, 2018 @ 2:21am
@Whiskeyjoel: Hey, I really appreciate the kind words. I'm glad that you're having fun.

Could you please clarify whyyou're having trouble with enemy undead? Is it because of their poison resistance?

If so, that's always an issue with poison-based classes. Same goes for the normal Geomancy skills.

I did try to mitigate this somewhat by making sure some of the Verdant Necromancer spells deal Earth Damage (which undead don't heal from) in addition to Poison.

Does that help? Anything else I can do for you? :)
Akashar  [author] 12 Sep, 2018 @ 2:18am
@Arlise: Great to hear that! Regarding size: Waldo the Seed Guardian wants to know if you are calling him fat? He says, and I quote, "I'm not fat. Just strong rooted. It's not my fault that graveyard soil is nutrient rich!"

I'm tempted to say the size is a feature rather than a bug, but if enough people think it's an issue, I'll change it. :)

So let's make a deal: If at least 10 people mention that as an issue in the comments, I'll put Waldo on a strict diet of swamp water until he sheds the extra branches.

Cool? :D
Whiskeyjoel 12 Sep, 2018 @ 2:06am
Hey, great mod concept, I'm really enjoying this. I'm having trouble with enemy undead though
Arlise 11 Sep, 2018 @ 5:28pm
Hi there! I really enjoy this mod. I love the concept and I think the health cost trade-off for the damage output is good. The piece of feedback I got from my group was that the creature is so huge that it creates a lot of visual noise. Other than that I really enjoy this mod!
Akashar  [author] 10 Sep, 2018 @ 11:44pm
@Everyone: Thank you! It means the world to me that you guys are enjoying this. Circle back to me with feedback on gameplay once you've taken the mod on a spin! :D

@Suiradkeemaj: That's my favourite part too! It was inspired by the lore text on MTG cards. Do you play? :)

@D-Lox: That comment is killing me! What a unique way to interpret... umm.. that animation-slash-Seed Guardian's "interpretive dance"... Bwaahah :D

@faisicshanosang: Awesome to hear that! I'm honoured. What do you like most about it so far?
Milano 10 Sep, 2018 @ 11:01pm
Wow i almost finish my game, and I have to start a new game with this god mod, thank you good sir :steamhappy:
Pavl Pavlpav 10 Sep, 2018 @ 9:26pm
My butthole puckered a bit when I prone boned trompdoy with tree-sybian. This is amazing. Thanks man! I give awesome toejobs btw, and you just earned some free suction.
Suiradkeemaj 10 Sep, 2018 @ 7:39pm
Favorite part of this mod are the quotes on all the skills, "Breathe deep magistars, breathe deep and die." The attention to small things like that. I am excited for this one.:steamhappy:
Akashar  [author] 10 Sep, 2018 @ 2:15pm
@Elvasat: Thank you! What did you like most about it? :)
Elvasat 10 Sep, 2018 @ 2:13pm
Noice mod well done. :lovegrenade:

@Odinblade: Master Yoda! You grace this humble padawan with your presence :D
Odinblade 10 Sep, 2018 @ 12:32pm
Yeah I completely second what Kal said - fantastic and unique concept! Certainly a LOT better than my first D:OS2 mod! Apologies I wasn't able to get time to do some early testing for you but I'll give it a go when I can!

Thanks for the shoutout, and if you have any other questions or queries, don't hesistate to ask :)
Akashar  [author] 10 Sep, 2018 @ 12:13pm
@Kalavinka: Thank you, wise one. Just point me to the rough edges, I'll polish them. Dobby the House Elf at your service :D

(Btw thanks again for beta testing this.)
