Made an updated version of this as the previous 1.3 version is no longer working:

Hope it helps anyone!

@Twilight
I'm still using ModSwitch too lol. I prefer it over any other "mod manager".
Posted that link for users who need another option since I guess ModSwitch doesn't work on 1.3.
Man, I wish someone would update it though.
If I ever learn enough about coding to do it, I will.

Please someone update this mod I can't live without it!

@DezZzO i recommend rimpy mod manager over fluffy's, it's fairly easy to set-up and comes with more organization methods rimpy does what both of these do but better.

@Black Puppet
as you stated, this one mod has no real problems with being a version after 1.0 because of the changes tynan brought,
people attempt to wake the mod owners up, this owner hasn't been active during 1.2 and 1.3.

it really depends on the mod complexity, some mods are easier to fork than others; I forked mods with dead owners over the years.
a mod I recently had a few members of mlie's server help me with trying at forking squad UI mod but ran into problems with the outdated built-in harmony dependency that was included:

Rarely abandon mods, but for this one the save button doesn't even appear since 1.3, so I guess I'm going to use Fluffy's Mod Manager.
You could say I had to mod switch.
xd

@pinbuck
If it is really that simple, then it should be genuinly no issue to use the mod right? I mean if the mod needs no change whatsoever and all that it needs is that the number changes so it looks compatible on the list and in the logs, then you should be able to use it with no problems whatsoever. Right? Right. I guess logical thinking hasnt been researched yet in your colony so I let it slide.

Fact of the matter is, the game has been overhauled a few times since 1.1. You and I have no idea how they have to update their mods, or if they have to at all. They might not have to do anything but change the version number, but you dont know that.

So quit your complaining and play the game with the mod. Clearly it works if all it needs is a version number change. Which is visual at best and does nothing to the game in the first place.
pinbuck 10.8.2021 klo 10.02
@Black Puppet 8/10 it's a singular line that magically fixes everything - version.
I suggested someone fork it because it's a simple fix that people like mlie do for almost every mod he forks.

lazy devs who didn't put "0.17, 0.18, 0.19, 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, 2.0" into the versions listed in their mods before stopping development go straight to hell: aka being forced to play league of legends.
Twilight 6.8.2021 klo 23.53
I prefer this one over fluffy's mod because it is better manageable and well-arranged. I use the colour feature a lot to test mods and mark them as essential, eye-candy, unstable, etc..
Delta7777777 3.8.2021 klo 11.53
Also there are other Mod Managers which do the same thing as ModSwitch.

Check out Fluffy's Mod Manager , he's still working on it, but it seems to have more functionality than this mod. Here
Usually wouldn't recommend other mods on someone else's page like this, but I think ModSwitch is thoroughly abandoned... although I am still going to continue to use it.
Delta7777777 1.8.2021 klo 19.07
Okay, so I found out what was wrong with some of the Mod titles ModSwitch would refuse to copy.

I noticed just now that each mod refusing to copy had a : in the title, and that by deleting that from the prompt for the filename it solves the issue. If you delete the : it allows you to copy it.

So this should at least work as a fix for anyone having the same issue copying certain mods, at least up to 1.2. Have not tested on 1.3.
This mod does not really need an update as far as I can tell other than in name. It still functions as intended.
It works great besides that : error which prevents you from creating a filename with : in it ( I believe that is more of an operating system limitation anyhow).
*
*I had to highlight all the text after the : then delete it along with the : in order for the : itself to be deleted.

I hope this helps someone. Also try ModSwitch on version 1.3, it might work, and again works well enough on 1.2 aside from the colon : glitch.

Vi-El 25.7.2021 klo 9.39
Lads and Ladies, jesus mothercrap be patient we are literally just weeks into the bloody update. Let the modders update their stuff in peace. Yes, I too would love to have this mod on my list but the fact is: They havent got the time to get around to updating yet.
Safari Mesh 22.7.2021 klo 19.52
homie please update.
pinbuck 21.7.2021 klo 21.14
it's not dead if it gets updated or forked
(≡◉‿‿◉≡) 20.7.2021 klo 13.57
This mod is now dead in 1.3
Delta7777777 21.4.2021 klo 12.48
This works great for the most part, only problem is it refuses to make local copy for certain mods no matter what i do.
SRS and an SRS add-on mod, and "pawn's paint restored" are the only one's I can recall rn (should have made a list). There were *about 5/100 mods affected. Not too big a deal, but something strange I ran into.

Regardless I still highly recommend this mod. It makes playing offline and editing values actually possible
Cherman 23.1.2021 klo 15.29
It works just fine in 1.2, just ignore the warning that Rimworld gives you for using old mods.

Hey there. Will you update to 1.2?
RavenousEye 10.8.2020 klo 9.14
will this mod have a 1.2 shortly? not unpatient, just like to know what to expect :)
Frission 9.8.2020 klo 16.07
Buttons are weirding out in 1.1. There's nothing but blank buttons and the tooltips just say "Modswitch.Tip.Apply", "Modswitch.Tip.Create" "Modswitch.Tip.Undo" and Modswitch.Tip.Settings"
Krypt 12.6.2020 klo 22.40
save/load mod list feature does not work on mac os, apparently. My guess is an issue with path resolving
XeoNovaDan 10.5.2020 klo 13.53
Nice mod! Just a couple of things though if you get the chance:

When saving a new mod config, pressing Enter after typing the mod config's name closes the window but doesn't save the mod config

Secondly, vanilla RimWorld also allows you to search for mods in your mod list so as a result ,there are now two search bars

Thanks!
Matt 4.5.2020 klo 3.54
@DoctorVanGogh:
Thanks for the quick response - I've right clicked the mod I want to amend, and selected "Create Local Copy", renamed it slightly.

However, I'm not seeing my newly renamed mod show up in the mod list, nor am I seeing any folder icons appear instead of the steam icon?

Could this potentially be because of my Steam folder for this game not being on the C: or should that not matter? (My file path shown in my previous comment) - Thanks in advance!

Edit: I found a workaround and manually saved a local copy and the folder icon is now appearing in my mods list, and the steam one was automatically deactivated.
DoctorVanGogh  [tekijä] 3.5.2020 klo 12.36
@Matt:
ModSwitch allows you to directly open any local mod's folder: Just left click the tiny white "folder" icon next to the mod name (like you would click the steam icon to open a workshop page in vanilla)
Matt 3.5.2020 klo 3.00
So I'm having trouble locating the extracted mod (local) so that I can make changes.
Where should these appear please?

I've checked: E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods
But there's nothing in there but a txt file?
Jeo Cargo 21.4.2020 klo 20.01
it made a separate file in the mods folder that i didn't see, was hiding right in front of me.
