A Version without the kraken would be nice, I absolutely love the new enemies, I don't know why Red hook didn't think to add ghost pirates to the cove. But the kraken is just bad. his sprite breaks frequently, I got the 'slay the king kraken' quest twice, his boss trophy is just the occultist's CC trinket but mirrored and i just can't stop seeing the mamoth cyst in him. sorry.

1: find .xml files at "SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\262060\1087665130\localization"
2: edit .xml files. In every XML file, add the XML node for your language.
3: Drag any XML file you edited, to "steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon\_windows\localization.exe"
4: when you drag and drop, new .loc2 file will be generated in "1087665130\localization", rename it as old .loc2 file.
5: lookup in game, it should be worked.

Hi, I have a problem with blue code instead of enemies and their attacks names, I play in spanish but, how can I change the language of just the mod for solve my problem?

Update, turns out this was due to already being in mission in my save when those updates were loaded. I was able to roll my game back to the hamlet using a save editor and everything seems to be ok. If anyone runs into a similar issue you just need to force your game out of the mission.

This update broke my save, exited the game during the champion kraken mission and the mod autoupdated and now i can't open my save without a mash entry index error :( I've been trying to fix it for hours and nothing has worked.

After a long "vacation", quickly back to update to make some fix. Finally changed the mash to additive now (so should run better with other mods). Also reduced the ghost pirate's dodge a little bit. Hopefully it won't break the game. :)

Here's a fix for the previous comment. Use the Darkest Dungeon Save Editor ( https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1622464737 ). Open the persist.raid.json tab and set the enemy you want gone to 0.0 hp. It will die once you load the game and the fight will continue as normal without crashing.

Beware, the kraken boss fight might crash when it summons tentacles while you have a homunculus or other ally spawned on its side of the battle and may result in an unsalvageable save file. Or it might just crash regardless. I'm not sure.

My love for mod makers is unbound and you have my gratitude for a very nice mod.

But.

Those skeletons that keep on buffing their dodge are just aggravating. I understand now I should've prioritise them, but that means my run ends with my team full health, no stress and unable to hit that dancing 350 dodge skelebro. I think team wipes feel less of a pain than that.

Maybe just capping it to a number of round, like 10 dodge 5 rounds, would achieve the purpose without it being run ending. It could reach 50 dodge, but I would still have a chance to hit if my party is stable.

You should name Your .mash files something like kraken.cove.1.mash.darkest, and also remove all vanilla formations from the new files, since they wont be needed anymore. This makes the game add your formations into the game, rather than overwriting stuff. Also you need to remove the cove.2.mash and cove.4.mash files. Those are filled with weald enemies (for some reason) and if someone plays your mod with a mod that enables level 2 and 4 missions, their cove gets messed up. All of that being said, I like your mod.

Right, so I have been looking into the files for your mod and it still has some problems. (I'm not a modder, just doing some tweaking myself.) The way your .mash files are named, they overwrite the games own .mash files for the cove, replacing the vanilla formations. That's not terrible, since the vanilla formations are included in your files, although it is not great either. It does make your mod incompatible with any other mod that actually wants to overwrite vanilla formations (Your mod does just fine adding a couple formations containing your custom monsters.). -cont

Don't have problem with boss enemies in dungeon are too strong like the skelton with very high resistence and buff dodge endlessly. that just ridiculous. had to remove after I beat the boss.

So, just fought him and beat him, but I used riposte style fighting tactics against him and a backline attacker. For winning, it only gave me two common trinkets which was kinda meh, so I think if you do come back to this then maybe some unique trinkets would be nice (doesn't say in the mod description so I'm just assuming it doesn't have any). I like the strategy for him, I'll have to try with a more basic group setup than the one I went with this first time. All in all I didn't encounter anything game breaking yet, so kudos to you.

The quest does appear for existing games.

Yeah, I agree with the comment below. You should seriously be more transparent and put update descriptions. Maybe even create bios for enemys in a discussion for people who want that info? Also, weald monster mod when?

All mods from him are great sure but he didn't upgrade them since a long time so they are full of bug and could destroy your save .

I hope he will make some update.... one day....

As pointed out, this mod is old as the hills. I'm not sure why people aren't running into more major issues with this mod.
Like the game crashing.

I would recommend not using this mod until someone finds the author and brings him back from Bufu, Egypt or where ever he is.

way too high prot on boss, and blue blood all the time, works always no matter if it misses or you dodge. Disappointed.

This mod hasn't been updated in a very long time. There's a lot of issues and problems with it. I wouldn't blame everything on the creator.

Dont want to hate on this mod. But this mod is terribly performed. When you retreat from the dungeon one of your heroes randomly dies. There is no reward to contradict that. Plus there is nowhere said something like that would happen. There are missing texts and fonts everywhere. This mod just killed me favourite hero. Unfairly. I didnt even know he would die. :/ It doesnt feels like challenge. Challenge is hard and rewarding and adequatly ballanced. Playing this mod feels like little kid laughting in your face when you play pokemon with him, while he changes rules constantly and when he is done he just takes all your cards and leaves because "he won them honestly".

I think I have found a new bug. It seems that if you abandon the quest, the assets for the abandon quest screen freak out.

I wanna try this mod out, but my game crashes every time I try to go into the first quest. I don't know where else to get help. Here's the error it gives me:

Couldn't find mash entry index 225 in eMashType 1

That's exactly how it's worded. Any help is appreciated, because I can't access my main save anymore until I can get this working. It just crashes to the desktop every time I try loading it.

I think everyone arguing about the Kraken's diffuclty right now should be aware that it is no longer working as intended. I don't know exactly which patch broke the fight, but based on the timing of the angry comments and the significance of the patch itself my guess would be CoM. I thoroughly enjoyed this mod in the past, but would advise not downloading it until AJ is able to restore the prot debuff which the Kraken is SUPPOSED to get whenever you kill a tentacle to it's previous condition, or at least skipping the boss mission if you do download it.

Curious about AJ's mods? Just subscribe and install. Ignore the silly complaints below. The "unbeatable" boss is not AT ALL hard with the right party composition and/or strategy -- even with a 1st or 2nd level party. One super easy solution for those who do not want to micromanage the Kraken's prot buffs described below /above by players and AJ himself is BLIGHT. The Plague Doctor and Grave Robber's blights make it a Krakenwalk.

AJ is among the best modders of DD. His monster mods are damn near masterpiece level. Insulting him makes you look foolish and ignorant. Thanks, AJ, respect.

Yeah, because the healing on the Drowned Crew on Champion is totally easy to deal with. No, it's not. That's not even up for debate. You want to kill that guy before the Crew heals a ton? Better bring every damage output ever.

Look, the Kraken literally is not that difficult.
Do I really have to put links to Youtube videos of people handling the Kraken?
Because it's not the most OP monster of any game ever.
And it most certain does not heal spam compared to the Drowned Crew. Healing 40 a turn makes the Crew far stronger than the damn Kraken by a massive amount.

i fail to see how the pathetic crews healing potential even comes near to that of the kraken. just kill the 1 monster on the enemy team that has little protection or debuff buffs, or is hard to hit, and the crew's healing is just cut short.

with the kraken, the kraken just heals itself.

Ubersoldier, please do not overexaggerate the Kraken.
There are three different ranks. Normal through Champion.
Each of them are capable of being dealt with by a party.

I've seen plenty of playthroughs on Youtube beat the Kraken on each level.

Once you figure out the trick, which is even spoiled on this page here, in spoiler text, the Kraken is not difficult.
He's not even as OP as the Drowned Crew in Champion and the fact they heal 4 times a round. :)

Kill the Tentacles while his defense is up and it drops like a bad habit.
Attack him when the tentacles have defenses up, and they lose their defense.
Alternate this, and you beat him.

Please, it's not a difficult fight once you get the mechanic down.
People just need to be patient and learn the ups and downs.

Besides, he really doesn't heal as much as the damn Drowned Crew does.

The Kraken is bloody op. He gets near 0 damage and constant heals. Maybe you could kill him with a full group of level 5-6 characters, but he's recommended for lvl 1. (WTF)

Hmm... sometimes the tentacles don't get the PROT debuff when I hit the body, is this intentional? It's quite annoying.
