Highlights
  • Fully redone army, navy, and air force paths for RT56 Turkey, with new decisions and national spirits to go with. (included in the Gunnerside #2 update, but missing from its patch notes).
  • Balance of power and additional focuses for monarchist Germany.
  • Adopted new combat widths of 1.13.

Additions
  • Some unique focuses and characters for the Sámis.
  • Additional focuses and political advisors for Liechtenstein.
  • Two new MIOs for Germany - Erma Werke and Hanomag.
  • East and West Germany now have generic advisors. West Germany has it's own MIOs.
  • Additional industrial companies for Liechtenstein.
  • Added the port of Viipuri.
  • Japanese members of the Kodoha faction will have more historical fates: retired if the control faction purge them and promoted if the Kodoha faction takes over. You will get a new chief of the army. Sadeo Araki received new traits and become a field marshal, another general can now become aide-de-camp of the emperor to control him and ensure the ambitions of the faction.
  • Reshuffle and expansion of the democratic Denmark tree.
  • Two new achievements for Denmark.
  • New achievement for Germany.
  • Added a new achievement for Israel.
  • Added some MIOs for Israel.
  • German voice lines for the German Kingdoms, alongside East and West Germany.
  • Branch hiding partially implemented for UK.

Adjustments and Balance
  • The German Air Force is strengthened with ~2000 planes, compared to the vanilla 916.
  • Germany started with more airfields in historical locations.
  • The steel cost of Infantry Equipment '45 reduced to 5 to align it more closely with other levels.
  • Some of the German commanders adjusted, with Brauchitsch and Fritsch taking actual command. Model and Kluge were demoted to the rank of General.
  • R56 Germany now has a focus to improve enigma again and a focus to increase synthetic rubber output, aside from some restructuring.
  • Saudi coring decisions now core the new Jordan states but they all demand a minimal level of compliance.
  • Made it slightly easier for Hatzohar to form a coalition in the Israeli elections.

Fixes
  • Serious memory leak issue that was on the beta is fixed.
  • If Indonesia starts independent, it now no longer locks itself out of some buffs in its fascist/communist branches.
  • You can no longer choose the Molotov-Ribbentrop option to get a war goal on Lithuania in exchange for more Polish lands to the Soviets if Lithuania doesn't exist.
  • Fixed issues with the formation of the United Front in China.
  • Fixed research bonuses for naval gunnery and naval shells.
  • Fixed Trotsky magically puppeting releasable that can also be released outside Soviet borders.
  • Fixed UK being able to give Sudanese resources back to Egypt multiple times in the Anglo-Egyptian conference.
  • Fixed rare issue of democratic countries being forced to join Germany's democratic faction if they declare war on a non-democratic faction member of them (base game bug).
  • Sweden can no longer core Missouri
  • [BBA] Fixed missing air techs.
  • [AAT] Denmark no longer has incorrect starting ideas when playing the DLC tree.
  • [AAT] Denmark no longer has unintegrated r56 mechanics when playing the DLC tree.

  • [AAT] Hid some decisions that don't apply when using MIOs, while porting a vanilla decision to select multiple special forces branches.

AI
  • Poland no longer signs a mutual defence pact with Lithuania in 1938, as a result of the historical AI working properly since the previous update.
  • Historical Italy AI is fine-tuned™, focus order is revisited and able to putting up a fierce fight in North and East Africa.
  • AI would stop wasting command points on "Reserve Transfer" and "Extra Fuel Reserves" during peacetime battle plan.
  • [AAT] Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden DLC trees have been integrated into the AI behaviour decisions and their behaviour should now follow AI plans like vanilla, including historical.

Localisation
  • Added party names and changed names for East and West Germany.
  • Some descriptions for Liechtenstein focuses and decisions.

GFX/UI
  • Planes for the Samis, Québec, Iceland. New Biplane for China.
  • [AAT] Fixed missing MIO buttons when modifying equipment.
  • [AAT] Added the Norwegian and Danish plane models.

  • Fixed economic laws and modifiers not setting the proper amount of consumer factories.
  • Norway's new characters (leaders/advisors/commanders etc.) merged with our old ones.
  • Fixed CTD after hovering over certain doctrines.
  • Icons for the Road to 56-exclusive shocktroop special forces doctrine specialization.
  • [BftB] Democrat Parti Turkey can no longer lock itself out of all foreign policy (including Ottomanist) paths.
  • [AAT] Finland's tree will allow you to do the neutrality path while democratic, BoP is still being overhauled.
  • A small mountain of other fixes!

October Update - Operation Gunnerside!

Howdy folks! Operation Gunnerside has arrived! The day 1 mega-patch from your friendly neighborhood mod team!

The '56 gang has been burning the midnight oil for weeks now to merge AAT with our latest and greatest content. ...that is until someone asked, "Wait, why are we still using oil?" and we all switched to electric. After that things went quite quickly, and here we are!

Special words of affirmation and seductive appreciation for our leads, fine contibutors, and for all the other members of the team that have held off on their planned coup just for this patch. Also, Katten over at Paradox for enabling this Day 1 dance contest. Also also, to all the cats that did not get pets while we were busy. Your furry sacrifice will definitely be forgotten.

Note: This is just an initial patch. Getting our mammoth mod to work with new DLC is always an epic act of complicated insanity, so expect bugs! Please be sure to give us feedback and post over on Discord[discord.gg] when you find bugs or any issues! Together, we can squash all those critters together and make the '56 / AAT relationship a successful one!

  • Iran's communist plan and Andorra's flexible foreign policy AI plans should now work.
  • Fixed Colombian focus "War with the Andeans" automatically bypassing.
  • Fixed Austrian focus "Restore the Liechtenstein Protectorate" automatically bypassing.
  • Added generic advisors to more tags that were missing them.
  • Azad Hind now has access to an economic focus tree path.
  • Fixed shared focus "Baltic Unification" not giving cores on all Baltic states for players without WTT.
  • Fixed missing description of the fall of Ulan Bataar.
  • Fixed missing event for Stresa Italy.
  • [BftB] Turkey can no longer defile *and* continue Ataturks legacy.
  • [BBA] Italy should now pick between all its AI plans for going alternate history (Except Roman Empire).
  • [Non-BBA] Italy should now correctly go monarchist, while Mussolini can do alternate history diplomacy that's done by dedicated leaders for BBA users.
  • [Non-BBA] Fixed the cost of the initial level of the Flying Boat.

AI
  • Soviet Union concentrating too many troops in the Far East during a European war has been resolved.
  • Italy will be more aggressive in the Ethiopian theater.
  • Germany would deploy more troops to the Russian frontline.
  • The minimum required number of supply trucks for AI has been slightly increased.

Localisation
  • Rewrite localization for Convoy Supply technologies.
  • Fixed some typos in the German 'Establish Reichskommissariats' decision category.

GFX/UI
  • Additional fixes and improvements for generic portraits.
  • New Chilean portraits have been added for Anton Pulanich, Olegario Reyes del Río and Emilio Daroch Soto.
  • New Slovak portraits have been added for Ariosto Herrera, Franz Karmasin, Jan Ursiny, Janko Jesensky, Gustav Husak, Jan Golian, Jozef Nemsila and Rudolf Viest.
  • New icons for CAS 0 and CV CAS 0.
  • [LaR] Added Kaiserreich operatives.

  • Reworked the Uruguayan focus tree.

  • Iraq now actually gets France's Syria if they successfully demand it. The demand Cyprus focus has been made owner-dynamic and the Gulf colonies demanding no longer works while at war with the UK.
  • Changed Namibia back to Namibia as a strategic zone.
  • [DoD] End the Regency will correctly instate Peter II as leader.
  • [NSB] Fixed a bug that was preventing the light superstructure from being allowed to function as a light tank and use light weapons, such as L3/35 or TKS.

AI
  • Alternate history AI game rules for Egypt.
  • Template improved from 9/3 to 9/2, reducing strains on artillery production. It will be revisited after the width change of Beta.
  • The AI would invest less in air equipment.
  • Added AI strategy plans for Egypt.
  • [MtG] The German historical AI will not focus on capital ships anymore due to a condition misplacement.

Localisation
  • Localization fixes for Liechtenstein.
  • Partial localization for Australia.
  • Made the Iranian "Restore Constitutionalism" localisation dynamic, since it's recycled in the Saudi tree.

GFX/UI
  • New portrait for Abbas II of Egypt and Albania.
  • A few new political advisor portraits for Liechtenstein.

  • The technologies increasing the range and building speed of supply hubs can now be identified under the name: "Supply Node Technologies" in some focus trees.
  • Improved communist canada slightly and changed incorrect traits of some of their chiefs of the Navy and other details.
  • Enver Hoxha for communist Albania now has a trait, making him more viable in the leader choice event.
  • [DoD] Romania getting German licenses will also come with a free military factory.

  • Puppeted France/Britain can no longer leave your faction to create NATO.
  • Fix incorrect traits for advisors in Cuba.
  • Fix a problem about the number of research slots in Armenia.
  • [BFTB] Said-i Nursi will no longer fire himself, making him unselectable.
  • [BFTB] Added a bunch of bypasses in the Turkish focus tree.
  • [WTT] If the Netherlands is a puppet of Germany, they will not refuse to release the Kaiser.

  • AI Majors should not be obesssed with planes.
  • Told the AI to use the added R56 technologies they were ignoring since the release of NSB.

AI
  • Finnish AI will be less likely to accept demands for Karelia if USSR has little army (on the border to them).
  • Severely decreased chance to obtain Sudetenland by peace as Germany. No warmongers are welcomed here.
  • German AI will be more inclined to ignore their Eupen-Malmedy claim.
  • The AI should dig for resources more if it has lots of military factories, this should help the US which tends to suffer from large resource deficits in the late game.
