Introduction

This collection of weapons uses variety of small, medium and large caliber guns that come with a choice of small grid / large grid fixed, casimate or turret mounts.

Bundle includes precise defence and sniper cannons, medium caliber rapid fire cannon and short range armor crushers, long range devastating artillery weapons and new rocket launchers.

It also offers a range of small grid amored turrets for your heavy fighters or crawlers that match their large grid comrades in efficiency and rate of fire.

This particular bundle is the source of all other reuploads in steam workshop and is the driving force for all the new features and items. If by some reason the version you use misses some of the listed weapons or features - please report to the author of your reuploaded version that he might need to update it as well.


Contributors

Whiplash - for coding exlusive weapon framework for this mod`s damage effects as well as many other awesome scripts, such as Rotor Turret AI or weapon salvo which further improve the efficiency of this bundle`s weapons.
Gauge - original scrip for deformation (script is no longer used, but his effort to balance the weapons in attempt to keep it afloat is never the less a major one and must be noted!).
Seff - for keeping the mod alive and fixed.
derekt - for making Weapon Core compatible version.


Reuploads of OKI Grand Weapons Bundle

It is clear that it is impossible to sattisfy everyone with a single weapon pack. Not all might see the balance in the current version reasonable and suiting for their needs or compared to other mods.

For these reasons i would like to encourage people to do whatever they please wih the mod be it balancing, retexturing, remodelling or combining with other mods efforts. There is a thread here in this mod`s discussion where you can find some reuploads already made and post yours if you are willing to share it!

I`m absolutelly ok with any sorts of balancing reuploads of the current mod. As well as using any assets in the mod for whatever needs you may have.


Mod contents:

Small and large grid designator units - these are literally a 360deg cameras with zoom. Can be connected to conveyor system (via bottom ports) and supplied with special ammo to spot potential threats or neutral derelicts up to 3500 / 10000 m (small grid / large grid). Fires a fast projectile that leaves a vivid red beam-like trail for a brief period of time.

14.5mm Heavy Machineguns / CIWS - simple small grid defence weapons / large grid version with greater ROF than vanilla gatlings, but lower per shot damage. Great for missile defence and meteor interception.

50mm Burstcannons / Stormgun - all grid long range precision weapons / powerful heavy gatling cannon. All are effective against small grids and for sniping out turrets.

122mm Assault Guns - powerful weapons capable of destroying 2x2 light armor blocks per hit and destroying heavy armor with continous concentrated fire (8-16 shots depending on accuracy). Fires 15 rounds per minute.

230mm Battlecannons - long range equivalents of assault guns with greater damage and area of effect, but slower rate of fire (5 RPM). Destroys light armor with extreme efficiency usually completelly wiping out a small-scale ship in one hit. Dents heavy armor in large area around impact and crushes it with successive 2-3 shots.

Fixed mounts - all weapons in this mod come in compact fixed versions for small or large grids depending on relative weapon`s size. For small grids the weapons are: 14.5mm machineguns, 50mm bustcannons, 122mm assault guns. For large grids: 50mm stomgun (50mm gatling cannon), 230mm battlecannon, massdrivers.

Casimate mounts - large grid 45 deg cone compact weapons (assault gun and battlecannon versions).

Vehicle turrets - CIWS, Burstcannon and Assault Gun turrets for small grid ground vehicles or gunships. Durable, but bulky.

230mm Battlecannon Battery - massive turret that fires battlecannon rounds with a rate of fire of 15 shells per minute (against 5 rounds per minute of all other weapons). This is the largest turret-mounter weapon system in the mod.

Massdrivers - state of the art and very expensive cannons that can hit targets at very long ranges with outstanding accuracy and speeds. Come in two variants:
- 75mm Hyper-P Penetrator Drives is designed to pierce up to 2 layers of heavy armor blocks (or 8 layers of light armor) at ranges of up to 3500 meters with pinpoint accuracy.
- 180mm Hyper-X Explosive Driver is capable to destroy 2x2 heavy blocks upon impact at ranges of up to 2400 meters.
Both drivers fire with a ROF of 2 rounds per minute and require constan input of 50mw of power while recharging the capacitors before making successive shots.

Whats the firing arcs?


Because the firing arcs of the originbal 230mm turret was pretty useless, could not even aim sideways.

yeah - missiles were horribly trash and everything is horribly shit at shooting them down. I dont know how did they manage to implement such useless system.
Will u do sth bout warheads? They r a joke too. It requires u ro build it on the spot, yet its shit

25mm gatling is still better that 50mm when fighting fast targets. Where 50mm will have destroyed just 6 blocks - 25mm gatling can chew an entire small grid ship. So NO, they are not useless.

Missiles are. And they were before when vanilla gatling dealt 180 damage per hit (compare it to current 400 of 50mm family!).

u added 5 new guns to the game, making vanilla weapons useless. With that coverage i cant see how u can fit regular guns into your mix
like i mentioned - my idea works on rock/paper/scissors mechanics, but im no modder. Yours adds "lava" to the mix.
I liked your guns, cuz they fit visually with previous graphic style, but they r superior and no1 will use the stock armament cuz of that anymore. Now im not even fully convinced missiles have a role in the universe

I wish i could make this game the way i want it to work...

As for the extreme range for missiles - i do have torpedos in mind for that.
Problem is - i have no way to set the amount of HP a missile has, so slow-moving, low-ROF and long range torpedos might be an easy target.

What i know for sure is that missiles are very good against fighters and tanks. They push those around like air ballons disrupting aim, turning stuff upside down and actually crippling small grids pretty hard.

dmg that goes through armor - damaging armor = magic
wikipedia says missiles r good ad long range and saturation fire, so give them ridiculous range?
