The Heart of a Wizard

Description
A level 1-12 adventure with a focus on exploration and story.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lost Valley is required. Palace of Ice is not required as most of the map and level design were completed before its release. Items and races from Inner Strength and Primal Calling are used.

-In dialogue if you are presented with a line which has **two stars** on each side, it is a binding choice which moves the dialogue and/or actions forward. Not all choices will have this denotation. If you are ever presented with only one choice in dialogue and it feels like there should be more, your party lacks the class/race/ or attribute required for the option.

-During dialogue, whether with a npc or virtual, if it appears to have given information about monsters or enemies you should be shown a sidebar update after the dialogue. This is unstable and often does not trigger, however the enemy information is still saved in your journal.

-Keys which state: *Single use only* at the bottom of the written description are safe to discard after using. This campaign doesn't feature too many keys, so if you are unsure, just keep it in your inventory for a while. Keys without this denotation may have several uses, including opening doors and chests. Reading item and monster descriptions play a role in my campaigns, if something sounds important, it probably is...

Traps are not used because of an on-going instability with Unfinished Business. If you do get the pop-up message that UB has caused an error and all players should close the game, don't worry too much. Most times you can roll right along without anything else happening. If you want to play it safe, close the game and load the most recent save.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for the story, what's it's all about? Well, I'd rather the player go in blind. You can only play something for the first time once. I will say, it's a rather layered story and not everyone you meet tells you the truth, much like in real life. Or rather, they tell you their version of events, unreliable as they may be. I've gone deep down the rabbit hole of environmental story telling with this one, most of which is text free, however the first act of the game is a bit dialogue heavy but it needed to be for this type of story. Both aspects dovetail into each other.
The latter portions of the campaign are more open, exploratory and combat focused. This wasn't meant to be terribly difficult as far as enemy encounters. I will say there are many optional areas and encounters that are difficult should you find them.

Got the third stone and I've only just reached level 6. Can't imagine what else is to come.

Initially I got frustrated with all the doors I couldn't open, but now I just trust the natural flow of the game. I was able to get into some places early by abusing Misty Step, but so far no ill effects.

The writing here is superb, both the plotting and scripting.

i must have missed something? Gavlan and his bodyguard have joined me to fight the beast in the sewers, however, there is no beast there? is there some other sewer? i think i've looked every where i can? there is a door in the sewer i can't open, is it in there if so how do i open the door?

@Lninefingers , that didn't help. I've gone through the puzzle room and most of the library. I used that invisible teleporter and ended up in the long corridor which I already've been through. Still can't get into the room with the rest area or found the book.

@rustythorn Yes, Tarwyn found that as well. I'll have to patch it later. For now, enjoy your infinite good luck :)

@benjamin_gerardo Without knowing exactly where you've been, have you gone through the puzzle room in the east? After that, there is a longer hallway that takes you north, then curves south (There is a magic window where you can view some orcs in area which you go to later) That should run you right into an invisible teleporter.

@EricWisdom Hey Eric, I remember playing your short but brutal campaign way back. Yeah, you can add it to anything I'm fine with that. I haven't been on the discord in probably over a year so I really have no idea what's what over there.

@tarwyn Oh ok. Probably a misplaced variable on my end, thanks for the catch.

The stone of good luck from David i think his name is. I can keep "saving him" and get the stone each time.

Hi, I'm in the library looking for the book the apprentice needs to wake his master. I've gone through the rooms and can't seem to find it. There's also a teleport area that I assume takes me to the room with a rest area but it doesn't seem to be working.
