I've played an awful lot of this and I've played an awful lot of Baldur's Gate 3. They're both good. BG3 has high production values, of course, but Solasta has its own kind of charm — the experience is a lot like playing D&D at a real table, with a DM who only knows two or three funny voices. There's also a lot of player-made-content for Solasta, some of it just as good as the real game.

The tactics are decent and the graphics in the tactical layer are decent. Other than that, it's a purely anodyne, generic, paint by numbers adventure game. A lot of character classes cost money in the form of DLC, so no barbarian or paladin out of the box (and those are two different DLCs, too). Can't even play player-generated adventures unless you buy DLC.

There's just no "there" there in this game.

pronoun "they"? 2 is enought.
too long until creating a character. half of caracters are blocked, boring tutorial (you need to read a lot, not much action) and not available in multiplayer mode, idk start is very boring.

Very Fun and the rules follow D&D closely. Baldurs Gate 3 might be amazing but it does not compete with this game, they compliment eachother. this game is worth a purchase. they have many more classes and is very strategy oriented. Highly recommend
