Battlezone: Legacy of the Black Dogs [Campaign]

Description
9 brand new, fully scripted missions set within a cohesive, unique storyline following the Black Dog faction in the original Battlezone campaign. The story begins on the moon with a brutal ambush by the CCA, and extends all the way to near the beginning of BZ2. I wanted this pack to serve as an homage to the Black Dogs and Battlezone.

Features:
3 new worlds (Callisto, Iapetus, Pluto) and one map on Mars at night.

Some maps have secrets, hidden areas, or easter eggs if you pay attention!

New Weapons (most can be used, but a few only appear on enemy units!)
Plasma Stabber: Long range, slow firing stabber round.
Flak Cannon: shotgun spread type weapon with high damage, high ammo cost and short range.
Lightning Barrage: turn towards enemy, and yell, FRYYYYYY.
Cluster Rocket: unleash a cluster of tracking missiles, with very high damage and crowd control. Also, the ability to blow up your own units.
Havoc cannon: spin baby spin!
Devastator missile: run.
Some weapons from ScrapPool’s “Burns Rebellion” pack also make an appearance.
And more!

New Player Pilot Weapons. Who says pilots have to be helpless?
Shotgun.
Bazooka.
Jetpack.
And in one mission you get a time bomb because explosions are fun!

Many new and returning models/units. I attempted to bring back a lot of the ideas that were cut from the original planned Battlezone expansion. See the “Thanks” list for a full listing of the sources for models.
-Drone carriers that unleash swarms of automated combat drones (and they don’t take your offensive slots!)
-Triple barrel NSDF heavy tank
-Retro style tank
-Strikers (both CCA and NSDF)
-Nightingale Mobile Repair Unit (with custom ammo/repair droppers that create a group of pods, with a cooldown, so the Nightingale doesn’t waste it’s own drops)
-New Fury units
-CCA Heavy Tank
-Rocket Gun Tower
-Black Dog Heavy Turret
-Tartarus might actually do something now, if you ever find one
-ScrapPool's "Burns Rebellion" units
-And more!

7/9 Maps are fully original terrain, while the other 2 are relevant locations from BZ1 and BZ2 campaigns!

Custom soundtrack sourced from all the unreleased BZ1/BZ2 music, and scripted dynamically to change in game when different events happen.

Varied mission types, as I tried to appeal to multiple playstyles. Play as a wingman, play as a solo sniper, hold off waves of attacks, lead the assault on a base, and fight alongside allies in huge battles.

The story ties deeply into the original NSDF/CCA campaigns as well as The Red Odyssey. Battle the CCA and CRA, discover new threats, and witness the climactic events of the Fury infestation on Titan.

I added as many voice overs as possible, to increase the authenticity of the missions. I cut/spliced many original VO’s, and when all else failed recorded lines from my friends and I to fill in the gaps. Big shoutout to Kingfurykiller and SexxyRexxy for voicing the majority of custom ones in missions 2-8!

Many of the features of this mission pack would not have been possible without the many community members who gave me assistance or created assets I use in this pack. Again, please see my Thanks list to see full credits of everyone involved.

Please report any and all bugs, ideally with a video clip of it happening or at least detailed explanation of when/where it happens, and if it can be reproduced. I will try to fix it as soon as possible!

-PSA: if you use the Classic Models mod, it breaks a lot of the custom units in this campaign, you may want to deactivate it while playing them.

Issue was caused by non-English localization. Unfortunately nothing I can do to fix that, solution was to set game language to English.

Id probably need full log files to find out more. I can't replicate and no one else has had this issue that I've heard of, so were looking at a hardware or software configuration on their machine most likely. Could be graphics settings, drivers, other mods, its hard to say.

I'd appreciate you following up here, Grizzly. I'm subscribed to the comments here. I'm not on and will not go anywhere near Discord (security concerns, hate the disorganized clutter it is ). I'm very interested in the solution for this in case I or other people experience it.

At least post the fix here, please, after figuring out what's causing it if you're not able to update the mod with the correction.

Ok, that's odd. Do you own TRO DLC? I see you joined the discord - I'll follow up with you there.

Hi @GrizzlyOne95, thank you for your answer. Checking Ogre log file it´s quite large but I see an constant error that keeps repeating:

"20:45:49: Parsing script pc/materials/TestGround.material
20:45:49: Compiler error: reference to a non existing object in pc/materials/TestGround.material(7)

Mostly of these "Compiler error" refer to "somefile.material"
Also I see this error.
OGRE EXCEPTION(6:FileNotFoundException): Cannot locate resource bvrdev.dds in resource group Modable or any other group. in ResourceGroupManager::openResource at D:\code\ogre\OgreMain\src\OgreResourceGroupManager.cpp (line 757)

This hapens with an witth out forcing dx9.
GrizzlyOne95  [author] 15 Jan @ 6:56am
Hm, that wouldn't affect the terrain, would be worth fixing though. Did you check the Ogre log file? That log has to do with rendering. You could try forcing dx9 using -renderer:dx9 on the launch parameters. If that doesn't work feel free to join our discord and I'll do some more in depth troubleshooting. I can't replicate it on my side.

@GrizzlyOne95, I unsubbed from all workshop and mods, then I've tried loading mission 9. The sky is fixed but the terrain stills shows up as black. Checking BZLogger.txt the only related error is this

2024-01-14 23:17:36.071114 ERROR: ParticleSimulateClass "xsalvognd.odf.odf" does not exist
2024-01-14 23:17:36.071114 ERROR: ParticleSimulateClass "xsalvognd.odf.odf" does not exist

@HalconVengador I did a quick test by unsubbing from all workshop mods and clearing my addon, then loading mission 9 and I got a working ground and sky. https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3139825389
Can you check your bzlogger.txt or bzogrelogfile.log to see if you notice any errors about textures loading or such?
HalconVengador 14 Jan @ 6:34pm
@GrizzlyOne95, You are welcome. About the Mission 9 map issue, that is correct the terrain shows up as black also the sky.
