Zeke & Pandoria

Description
Party formation has changed...

Zeke and Pandoria from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 find their way onto the Rivals of Aether Workshop. Pass your weapon back and forth between two characters and overwhelm your opponents with the chaos this Driver and Blade duo has in store!

General
You will notice a strand of light between Zeke and Pandoria. This is their "affinity", also measured by the meter over their percent HUD. As you do better in combat, such as hitting your opponent or staying near eachother, their affinity will increase. However, if you stay apart for too long, get hit, or do poorly otherwise, it will go down.

Managing your affinity is very important, as the higher it gets, the longer the strand of light can be. Zeke can only use Dspecial when within this range, and Pandoria's movement is limited to it. At maximum affinity (gold light), Zeke will receive a speed boost and be able to cancel melee hits into Dspecial.

Zeke von Genbu: Bringer of Chaos

The main fighter of the duo, Zeke wields slow but deadly sword strikes. His signature weapon, the Purple Lightning Dreamsmasher, has excellent reach, but weighs him down and leaves him without any kind of projectile. Zeke's jab is also unique in that he can cancel the third part of it into Dspecial on-hit, even without being at max affinity.

  • Nspecial - Dynamic Spark Sword - A three-hit sword combo, with very nice power behind it while not being too slow.
  • Fspecial - Ultimate Lightning Fury Slash MAX - Zeke's signature move. Very slow, but the impact of the attack when Zeke lands is absolutely devastating. You can airdodge out of the descent after falling for a while.
  • Uspecial - Stratospheric Thunder - A rising sword swing. Has good range to cover Zeke, and a strong sweetspot at the very start of the move. His main option to recover with.
  • Dspecial - Blade Swap - Zeke throws his sword into the air, and it reappears in Pandoria's hands. Player control swaps to her, but Zeke is completely vulnerable the entire time.

Pandoria: Quickest Purple

Usually just following her Driver around, Pandoria has a set of unique special moves that can be accessed after Zeke uses Dspecial. At the cost of a limited moveset (no normals or dodges) Pandoria has an arsenal of long-ranged projectiles to finish off opponents or bring them back to Zeke for more. After using any of her specials, she will throw the sword back to Zeke and have a short cooldown before Zeke can Dspecial again.

  • Nspecial - Thunder Doom - Pandoria raises their weapon into the air, and it aims toward the opponent. After a period of time, it will be launched towards their position and explode. Zeke can use this move to pressure the opponent with the added threat of it while he fights. Its tracking ability is better if the opponent is in hitstun.
  • Fspecial - Electric Circus - After charging up her weapon, Pandoria throws it forwards while spinning, hitting the opponent multiple times and sending them back inwards to her.
  • Uspecial - Lightning Force - Pandoria summons a bolt of lightning above her, which spikes opponents downwards. If it reaches her during the animation, she creates a strong blast of electricity, which can be very dangerous for opponents, especially if she properly positions it so the bolt combos the opponent into the blast.
  • Dspecial - Blade Swap - Pandoria throws her sword into the air, and it reappears in Zeke's hands. Player control swaps back to Zeke, and Pandoria does not go on cooldown unlike her other specials. Pandoria can only be hit while she has the weapon.

Currently using the 2.1.0.5 branch, if that provides context/help. I’ll try resubbing

Try reloading the character or something. Sometimes, the game just doesn't properly load things.

Doesn’t work. No affinity meter, can’t change it with down+taunt, down special does nothing

i think it's funny that there's only a single xenoblade rep in the workshop and it's the guy whose first interaction is 30% about a tiny little turtle

This characters class! I normally don't like characters like being able to control two characters at once but Zeke and Pandoria are a strong exception.
