Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to present to you: Garry Theft Auto [REDUX]. As long as I'm starting to take G-mod collection compilation too seriously, why not go back and improve one of my older and crappier ones?


Garry Theft Auto, as the name suggests, is a project to try to bludgeon and corrupt Garry's Mod into something far closer resembling a game from the Grand Theft Auto franchise. I'm using add-ons all across the workshop - Including from other collections of a similar nature - To ensure that this collection is the most comprehensive GTA collection on the G-mod Workshop. As usual, I'd like to note that I wasn't just doing this blindly. I had a few priorities that I followed whilst making this (In-order of importance):

• GTA's mechanics take priority over Garry's Mod's. If you wanted to play basic-♥♥♥♥♥ sandbox: Go play vanilla Garry's Mod.
  
• Being GTA-like is more important then being GTA. For example: I chose to use the ArcCW Urban Decay weaponry over the TFA GTA V pack simply because I prefer ArcCW over TFA (Especially for 3rd-person), and I felt Urban Decay was higher-quality. In-short: Just because it's GTA doesn't mean it's necessary.
  
• 3rd-person takes priority over 1st-person. This is Garry Theft Auto. Of course 1st-person is gonna take a backseat in-terms of support
  
• Graphics can be modified, but not "improved". This is a collection for a game from 2004, and Garry Theft Auto doesn't forget that.

Be sure to take these priorities into account before hitting that 'Subscribe to all' button. Also note: This collection is not recommend for those with lower-end computers, due to all the complex system's it adds. It's recommended you download this only if your computer has a fair bit of free space and can easily pull 140 FPS or over on standard Garry's Mod.

For those who'd like to know what they're getting into, I did you the courtesy of listing everything this mega-collection changes, and some of the add-ons you have to thank. Feel free to take a look, and decide for yourself what you like or don't like:

• Third-person improvements across the board. If you're going to be staring at your character a lot more, he may as well feel alive.
  
• The world's alive! Thanks to StormFox 2, Background NPCs - Fill the world, [DV] Decent Vehicle - Basic AI, etc. A diverse cast walking around, active traffic, day/night/weather cycles - These are the changes that are really meant to sell that GTA feel!
  
• ♥♥♥♥ to do. If you play on Garry Theft Auto's recommended map (gm_bigcity_improved): There'll be quests waiting for you. Though these differ from how typical GTA quests usually work: It's still better then nothing. Or, alternatively, you can play A Social Garuntee's District maps and have plenty of fun with those
  
• Emphasis on ragdoll-ing and enhanced ragdolls, thanks to Next Gen Enhanced Ragdoll Mod, RagMod, Player Tumbler, etc. In-case you haven't noticed: GTA 4 and beyond all have quite a lot of ragdoll-ing. So, naturally, Garry Theft Auto is following suit
  
• New GTA-esc combat, thanks to [ArcCW] Arctic's Customizable Weapons, The Urban Coalition project, BSMod Punch SWEP + Kick & KillMoves, etc. To compensate for the fact there's no dynamic store system for G-mod (Yet): I settled for having BSMod's Killmoves act as a source of health and armor (Depending on how you set it up), and also an incentive to actually get out of your car. The combat isn't 1-1 with GTA's, of course, but it doesn't try to be.
  
• Minor graphical improvements, thanks to LiteGibs, MysterAC Particle Enhancer V2, [OPTIMIZED] vFire - Dynamic Fire, etc. Small graphical tweaks, primarily aimed towards action-related effects. If you have the guts and the specs to handle further graphical improvement: I recommend Beautify Garry's Mod.
  
• Multiple optimization improvements, thanks to Bucket's Optimizations V2, VLT's corpse cleaner, GodSentTools GPU Saver. etc. Trust me: You're gonna need them.

NOTE: To get the traffic working, you'll need Decent Vehicle and Background NPC's (Of course). Then, simply run "dv_route_load" in console. If traffic still doesn't work, you'll have to tinker with Background NPC's settings. This will add a *lot* of additional lag onto the game, but the effect it has on realism is unmatched
