About the Mod

This will swap Swords for Ballistic Shields on the Assault Infantry class. Simple as that. Converts all of the Vanguard skills to equivalent skills focused around using a shield.

Strongly recomended to make the most of this conversion:
  • [WotC] Shield Rework The lowered damage, disorient on strike, and built-in cover gives the Assault Infantry a solid close quarters specialist feel while allowing it to not be a swordsman using shield bashes instead of sword slices.
  • Proficiecy Plugin: Intelligence Officer -> Scout With the change of the Assault Infantry to shields, that then opens up the sword, and the Scout is the perfect class to fill that void.

Known Oddities
The animation when Combatives triggers uses the animation set for a combat knife, so it may look a little weird, but everything works just fine.

Compatibility
Designed to be a simple meta-mod, it should be compatible with everything except mods that directly modify the Assault Infantry's Soldier Ranks, Allowed Weapons, or Default Loadout. It does play nice with Proficiency Plugin: Full Class Decks and Proficiency: Community Perks Plugin

    For reference for anyone in the future who's curious, I'm pretty sure the shield skin that's being used in the picture comes from the Alternate Shields mod.

    What shield skin are you using on the image? the standar shield is ugly but that thing look so clean

    @FearTheBunnies I had several soldiers of this class and the situation was the same throughout. Being able to use a shield or a sword is handy if playing with the Hive.

    @captain_uzziah LWOTC has ballistic shields built into it, so you would need to check if the weapon category for those shields is the same as the standalone mod. If they are, then you should be able to use LWOTC as a replacement for the ballistic shields mod requirement. Otherwise, you will need to double check that Proficiency Class Pack works without issue before using this one (as this hard requires the base PCP classes)
