Inventory for All Units (1 Slot)

Description
Mod Features:
Adds a 1 slot inventory to all units for all the factions/races included in the game (and it's DLCs) except units that meet the criteria below:
⬥ Structures or stationary units
⬥ Transport units (see "Known Issues" below)
⬥ Has an inventory already (e.g. heroes)

Applies to neutral units as well.

Unfortunately the AI at this time doesn't seem to equip items on to units affected by this mod (normal units and neutral units).

The unit inventories are available from the start of the match, and do not have to be researched.

Known Issues:
⬥ Transport unit's cargo slots UI overlaps the unit inventory UI, and although it can be re-positioned, it's a bit clunky. Additionally, it could cause mechanical problems if cargo units had inventories.

⬥ If you're using this mod with the the Neutral Units for Hire or Neutral Units for Hire (Cybernetica Datasmith) mods, the Chaos Cultists and Cybernetica Datasmiths you purchase from the Jokaero Trader Encampment will not have any inventory slots. The regular versions of these units will still have inventory slots.

⬥ Any item that increases max health (e.g. Zoat Hide Jerkin) will do so for ALL the models of the unit equiping the item. This usually results in some models "dying" because of the change in max health. Simply heal them or let them heal naturally to get their health back up to their new max health value. This only affects units with a model count greater than 1.

NOT compatible with other inventory mods (will actually cause the game to crash). Only a maximum of 1 inventory mod may be active at any time.
Features:
❌ The features of this mod will NOT work with any mod that adds in new factions/races/units.

In the in-game mod list menu, this mod should be: ⬥ Anywhere

@Haplo That is great that you can move certain elements of the UI around now, as I don't recall that being the case a while back. Not entirely sure, my memory is a bit fuzzy.

I do remember though that the other reason I didn't try to force cargo units to have inventories is that some of them are immobile, and transferring say an item that increases movement or grants teleportation would cause some issues with the game (even as far as crashing it). Since there is no way to limit which items can be sold/equipped to specific units (outside of modifying the items themselves), I figured it would be best not to mess around with the cargo unit's inventories.

Feel free to take this mod and modify it to allow for cargo units to have inventories if you'd like. I haven't played any Gladius in a bit so I'm not up to date with all the newest developments.

Is the only issue with giving Transports inventory is that they overlap? Because you can use the mouse to grab and drag the Cargo over on the screen.

As in, Vaul Relics are providing stupid things like +20 food instead of an actual artefact.
I think it was just a bad play, I'll test further.
I doubt it's MIA, as that mod actually adds a ton more stuff to get...

@HEX_Ninja05 Weird not being able to find artefacts/relics as often. Just to clarify: Do you mean when you're not finding items/resources as often when you move a unit onto a special tile (e.g. Grox Pastures)? Or do you mean that there are less actual Artefacts on the map itself? Either way this mod certainly doesn't affect either of those things. My best guess would be that the More Items & Artefacts has changed something perhaps?

Not sure if it's the mod, but I've noticed it's almost impossible to find actual relics anymore with units that have inventories.

Certain drones of mine (T'au) have been able to find relics, but my infantry keep finding Resources.

Is it possibly because of this, or just really bad chance?

Skirata, last night me and some friends noticed that for this particular version of the mod, the Space Marine Aquila Macro Cannon has an item slot.

Based on the apparent no transports/no buildings limitation, this probably should not be - But we decided to attempt to abusively test it anyway.

When placing the Dimensional Key item in the Aquila Macro Cannon's item slot (which, by default, is underneath the Cargo pane and thus mostly hidden), it transports the entire game to a different dimension -namely, the desktop.

I suspect that it similarly crashes for the other inventory mods, but we only use this specific one.

@HEX_Ninja05 I wish we could modify the AI in ANY way, but as it stands now, we can't change it at all.

Maybe splice half the Hero code in somehow?
