Description
Have you noticed how much fog is on the map? How everything looks white and washed out? This mod fixes that by giving the map a clean, crisp new look which is easy on the eyes.
  1. Removes ambient fog (NOT the Fog of War); most noticeable with low camera angle.
  2. Removes the ugly cloud skybox reflection from the seas; looked really bad when panning the camera.
  3. Moves the sun's reflection on the seas to the side (still there, but off camera); nobody wants sunshine in their eyes.
  4. New hand-crafted texture for the paper-map.*

*Also included are two optional replacements for the paper-map that have more "textured" seas; one darker, and one brighter. You can easily swap between them by following these steps:

1. First find the steam directory that you have this game installed within.
2. Then you need to find this mod, which you will find here:

{YOUR STEAM DIRECTORY} \ steamapps \ workshop \ content \ 859580 \ 2405608487

3. Then navigate to gfx \ map \ textures \ readme.txt for the final instructions.


Does not change the checksum

Does not affect performance

Compatible with virtually every other mod, except ones which also edit fog and/or water.

It seems lacking a water texture need for TI was maxed zoom out. Thanks.

But this is only a slight problem.

Sure. Look in the description for the 3 steps about the paper map. Instead of replacing the file, just remove it entirely.

Our hope and goal is to try and keep Imperator Rome alive, now that it has been possibly abandoned by Paradox. We wanted to ask you if you would give us permission to integrate your mod into the Imperator Invictus mod, and as well as ask whether or not you would be willing to potentially join us."
