G.E.I. Rum Runner

Everything you need to get off the starter planet and start exploring the galaxy!

The Rum Runner is Galactic Expansion Industries mass produced light cargo transport. This variant is meant to be as cheap as possible with a focus towards adding thrust upgrades when resources become available. It features basic parts with space already available to add the necessary components without modifying the spaceframe of the ship.

In the background of one of the photos is the G.E.I. Dark Horizon on it's shakedown cruise with the Rum Runner.

December, 30th 2020 Update

Added Detector, Large Constructor, 4 minigun Turrets, moved some forward thruster so they wouldn't cook passengers, added a few more thrusters to make sure when fully loaded it could take off. Added LCD indicating where radiation and heat started in engineering and installed a T2 CPU extender. Other minor updates fixes.

This is the starter CV I use to get into space before any other people in the faction. I have used it on all 3 server starts since I made it. Once with the stock design. Twice with the ADV-G1 Upgrade that is now pushed to this version and the reason for this update.

This build was made for the August 2020 Anvil Design Challenge and is my first submission. I had a lot of fun making it and hope to make more.

Author's note:
For fastest build time and getting off the planet quickly, I highly recommend you find a wrecked capital ship and remove the core.Then place your own and salvage the entire thing. Pump the needed parts into the BP. Anything extra dedicate to making the upgrades and install as many as you can. Also it is recommended that you are at least neutral with all factions before leaving the planet and lock your destination target. So you don't get blasted as soon as you leave atmo or at least can get into warp quickly.
