In this world you will be on the CV-83 Oberon Light Hover Carrier in creative mode. There is a platform 2KM away in line with the rear of the carrier where an unarmed FA-18 is ready for you to practice landing. Just copy the fighter and paste a copy in front of the original so you can try again without having to re-load a save. There is also a KC-46 Refueling jet flying around the planet at around 4KM high traveling at 65 mph ready for you to practive mid-air refueling. If you can't see the refueling plane's beacon on your hud, it is probably on the other side of the planet and will be back in your area in a few minutes. There are a number of static, unarmed practice drones nearby for target practice.

Damage is disabled by default in this training scenario for easier landing and refueling practice. Enable it if you want the practice drones to explode when hit.

Watch the included tutorial videos to learn how to land and refuel.

To take off from the Carrier:
1. Make sure your wings are unfolded and locked (5 and 6 on Toolbar 1).
2. Line up with the catapult and drive up to it
3. Pull your nose up and rest your front landing gear on the catapult pad
4. Slowly drive forward until the pad locks on (indicated by the green light)
5. The catapult launches 5 seconds after the green light turns on. You cannot abort the process at this time
6. Hold W or increase thrust override to maximum
7. After launch, pull up slightly. Your aircraft is heavy when fully armed and you can easily stall

To land on the carrier:
1. Jettison all pylons (Toolbar 5, press all items, 1-9)
2. Ensure thrust override is off and neither the cruise control or auto-align scripts are running by pressing Toolbar 1 > item 4 and Toolbar 2 > item 2.
2a. Turn on the handbrake using Toolbar 1 > Item 9 or just press P
2b. Turn on intertial dampeners
3. Line up with the rear of the carrier with at least 2 KM to spare.
4. Begin slowing down and descending. At 1KM from the carrier you want to be going about 45m/s and around 135m high (on flat ground).
5. Use the glide slope lights to help align yourself. The yellow light should stay in line with the green lights. If the yellow light is above the green lights, you are too high. If it's below, youre too low. Keep the nose of the aircraft in line with the glide slope lights. Your descent rate should be between -4 and -5 MS.
6. Don't pull up or down to adjust your height on the glideslope, instead use your thrust to adjust. Thrust up/on if youre too low, thrust off/down if too high. During the whole landing process you should be tapping W at various rates to feather the throttle.
7. When you get about 200m away, use third person view for a better perspective and start reducing speed even more to about 35 m/s. When you are about to be over the flight deck, cut the throttle and pull up, allowing your rear wheels to touch down and catch the arresting cable.
8. A moment after sucessfully catching the arresting cables, green lights should light up on the cable base and the cables should release tension. Pull forward and away from the cables.

To perform mid-air refueling:
1. Approach the refueling plane from the rear. The refueling plane is script-locked to follow the planet's gravity and it has cruise control set to 65.
2. Switch to the refueling toolbar (Toolbar 4)
3. Press Ctrl + Z when aiming at the refueling plane to turn inertial dampeners to "speed matching"
4. Use W and S to increase/decrease speed relative to the refueling plane, releasing both keys to return to the matched speed.
5. Make slight movements with the mouse when lining up with the refueling boom.
6. Put the rotor head on the front of the aircraft with the refueling plane's boom rotor base. The rotor base is on a timer to attach every 2 seconds making the attachment an automatic process.
7. When locked in to the refueling boom, press 8 to turn the batteries to recharge mode. Never press Y or Z when attached to the refueling plane or you will cause the refueling plane to crash.

To use air to air missiles:
1. Switch to the weapons toolbar (Toolbar 3)
2. Press 4 to launch air-to-air missiles while facing the target
3. Press 3 to switch to the camera and keep your crosshair over the target until you hear the lock tone, at which point the missile is now fire and forget

To use air to ground bombs:
1. Switch to the weapons toolbar (Toolbar 3)
2. Press 5 to take control of the belly targeting pod
3. Press 6 to switch to the targeting pod camera
4. Press 3 to activate auto-alignment to the horizon if needed
5. Press 7 to release a bomb. The bomb will fly toward wherever you point the crosshair until impact

true but its a fun map good work

I could try. Only thing is the water map has drag physics so I would have to redesign the jet.

You gonna get this on the water planet map 🗺 would make this golden

Thanks, it was giving me trouble for copying for some reason so it was pasting the previous thing I thought I copied lol. Fixed.

Your Aircraft Carrier Link leads to the F18 again, just letting you know.
